*Please note this guide is written by a new player and will have errors, please correct me and I will make adjustments .
This guide will be added to in increments.
[Picking a Class]
Due to my lack of experience outside of Thief class I'm not going to be adding to this section yet.
[Early Play lvl 1-12]
As silly as this may sound, I recommend skipping the tutorial offered when you first enter the game. Wait until you enter the academy then accept that tutorial. Then do the village guide quest to get a feel for who/what all is in town. These will grant you some starting experience and items.
Be sure to use the minimap as a guide for quests if you get turned around. The blue marker leads to another map. When it is highlighted, that means you have a quest there.
---
Everyone starts off in the town of Jackson. I highly recommend doing every quest with this icon->
Quests are considered the "Main Story" quests and often reward you with gear(which is vital as a new player).
Quests also help you unlock what is known as the "Hunting Book" but we will go into that later.
You want to keep doing quests up until you get the quest saying "Reach lvl 12"
While doing the quests/grinding up to lvl 12, its recommended you do some Elimination Quests indicated by the icon. On almost every map with monsters you will encounter this statue, with a teleporter and quest giver npc.
*When you change channels on a map, you always come back at the Sanctuary statue.
You can do Elimination quests multiple times, and when you are first starting out the gear you get from these quests are very useful.
One of the Elimination quests has you hunting for a gold monster. Each monster has a chance to spawn a golden monster shrine on death.
These shrines will stay on the map for 10 minutes. So you don't have to rush. You attack the shrine a few times to release the golden monster inside. Gold monsters give extremely high experience and loot chances. Yes, they are rare.
If you are looking to reach lvl 12 a little faster, and have 1-3 people to party with, I recommend going to the Strange Cave. This is the first "Open Dungeon" (meaning no limits on how often you can use it). You can find it in Dragon Mount Ridge. If you have gotten lucky and already have a 3* weapon, you may be able to solo here.
[Growth Point]
Growth points are the main way you advance your character. You have a set number of growth points you can gain each day.
[Guilds]
You are missing out on lots of experience if you aren't in a guild. and this is why.
As you can see being in a guild gives you guild buffs. Try to get into a guild as soon as possible! You gain extra experience, and the guild exp you gain doesn't take away from the exp you normally gain.
[Class Passive Skills]
You unlock these as you level up. As you gain more class passives, you have the ability to use multiple at a time. This is account based.
At 4 skills learned you unlock your second slot. At 12 skills learned you unlock the current maximum 3rd slot.
[Level 12-20]
At this point keep working on your quests as well as elimination quests. Do them on a map, then move on to the next map. At this point you will be exploring maps south of Jackson. If you team up with another player, you can level very fast by simply doing elimination quests.
[Party Composition]
Most parties need Priest Monk Paladin.
Anyone else should fill a DPS/Debuffing role in the party.
[Level 15+]
At this point to gain experience to level up you are going to want to find a group for the Charnel House dungeon. This is a difficult place, a healer is crucial. Stick there until lvl 25 if needed. USE THE PARTY FINDER! It is the quickest way to get a group going! Press P to open.
[Level 20+]
Now you will be looking for Elbeck Dungeon groups as well as Nameless West Dungeon groups. From my experience, Nameless Dungeon has much better loot! I've also found that Minotaur Dungeon B3 Dangerous Area 1 has a really good farm spot when you first enter that floor of the dungeon.
[Level 25+]
Elbeck and Nameless West/East Dungeons are good, Minotaur Dungeon also becomes doable, at lvl 33 you should stop going to Elbeck because of penalty from underleveled monsters.
Now hopefully you have been working on your quests and are ready to start doing your hunting book!
(Shortly after the quests in Silent Lake Renoana you will have unlocked the hunting book)
(Open Hunting book with 'Q' key)
Basically you kill specific monsters on specific maps, and this gives you a reward at the end. You can hover over each monster for tips on where to find them.
[Partner Passives]
When you do quest with the icon you gain favor with certain npcs which will eventually grant passive bonuses to your character. I recommend you start doing these after you finish unlocking your hunting book. Unlike your Class Passives, these are not account based. They also can all be used at once, no need to pick between them.
[Which Leveling Spot Is Best?]
Ideally you want a place where the party can kill a monster at a decent speed and without using all their mana. You want to keep in mind yes some monsters may grant much more experience, but how hard are they to kill? How quickly can you kill them? At lvl 33 partying in Minotaur Dungeon B3 D2 grants around 0.2851 EXP per monster HP.
Nameless East Dungeon D2 grants around 0.2642 EXP per monster HP.
However an easier map, Nameless West Dungeon, grants around 0.4090 EXP per monster HP. It also ends up yielding more LOOT because monsters die faster, and you get higher chance of GOLD SHRINE.
[The Path of The Throwing Thief]
I've been getting lots of requests for my Thief build so I've decided to tack that onto this. Some things to keep in mind as a rogue debating between Scout and Thief advancement....scouts utilize poison stacking from the Rogue skills, Thief does not have access to any of the old rogue skills.
Gear:
As strong as a weapon as you can find. Nuff said.
You are going to want boots that add Hitrate, even if they are just 1* boots.
Everything else is simply find the best mix of defense/evasion/crit damage/attack speed you can.
Skills:
Throwing Dagger should be kept at lvl 3 until you can handle the increase in mana cost. This is your main dps.
Hide and Shadow, as well as Invisible Bind will help keep you alive. Shadow Overstep is fun to use, and makes you a mobile character, an easily change targets. Can also be used to catch up with your group. Marauder is only there because you get this skill on class change. The chain reactions shown are the ones I switch between. If I don't have a priest giving me mana in a party then when my mana gets low I switch to using Soul Slash but the majority of the time I use Delayed Throw with Dual Piercing and Terminator. Exhaust is not usable on any purple maps from what ive seen, but does work on hard field maps.
Above are the invested growth points, kinda spread out right now but I'm working on MP atm
