Are you aware that it is possible to open OBBs now and get all kind of equips? 

I am not sure about OPB, but i saw a hurricane fury on sale and some other stuff.

Source of problem is the amount of BOT program. 1-2k estimated currently.

YaguhLOLOL is always that one guy~ Waaaah.

Bots DO out number real players on this server. 

 

 

regardless of whether its 0 or 1000 bots, the servers should still be sufficiently upgraded to accommodate 4k people. bots are not an excuse for lack of capacity. if there were hypothetically 4k real players rather than bots playing, there'll still be this lag issue which needs to be resolved

To be clear, we are most likely going to me giving users VIP time due to lost VIP hours but not until everything is stable. Giving VIP time during instability won't work.

 

Remove death penalty. That will work during instability and stop people watching their chars lose exp due to lag.

lmfao how is asking to be reimbursed VIP asking for handouts? besides many players can agree they are tired of their VIP and money going to waste.

 

Bot awareness in effect? Legit I'm tired of seeing people QQ about bots. Bots are not the reason why the server is crashing. There are not more bots than players. LET THAT SINK IN YOUR HEAD CHILE!

noone else notice a few secs after the server open, over 1.5k "players" were already login?

Actually, your wrong. I think it was ZeroTigress who posted an article about how computers that are running bots send more packets to the sever than computers ran by humans. (The article is mainly about how you can use the activity logs to find and ban bots, but it relates here.) The activity level in the packets sent and received by bot programs shadows the activity by human players, especially when you take into account that players need to take breaks and some times just hang out in a town and chat with other people or they alt/tab.

 

Bot programs on the other hand are constantly grinding non-stop until they are shut off. The amount of packets sent to the sever is constant for hours, or even days at a time. That's why when you have 4k players, everything's okay. But when you have 4k bots, the servers lag. I'll look for a little while, see if I can't find that article.

Sir, you mind checking the experience that Stings give? Base XP should be around 4k, I have VIP subscription and field manual active but the Stings are only giving me 5k base XP and 4k job XP. I think the job XP is just right but the base is so off.

Nope, when I logged in there was just 300 players online. Don't underestimate how anxious players can be at the beginning of a new server :'D

I haven't had too many issues with lag myself but I'm on at odd times, so that may have something to do with it.

 

There's definitely bots but I've seen way more actual people on, especially in lower level areas, than in renewal, any of the popular leveling maps always have chats up for "R>Party lvl xx+" or "R>Party lvl xx-yy"  so the 12 man swarm parties are back in full force here.

I have noticed a few oddball OBB/OPB drops in shops though (instruments for sale, trans only weapons) so maybe take a look at the box drop tables (and put slotted sunnies and glasses in at super low rates again, I'm 100% certain that used to be a thing)

Interesting article, but I don't see how it supports your claim at all because as far as I can see there is no mention of the impact that bots have on the game server. The lag could be cause by tons of things, but I highly doubt bots and the way they interact with gravity servers are the issue.

My guess is that when a "map server" exceeds it's capacity it starts to cannibalize resources from somewhere that's not under as much load, causing everything to slow down. Since the "login server" seems to only control logging in and providing info on whether an account is VIP or not, and the amount of kp you have it is likely not under heavy load most times so it's resources get eaten up and eventually it is unable to accept logins anymore.

But like most people here, I'm just talking out of my Ass. I'm a network guy, not a server guy. If my switches show no crc errors and the buffers are empty it's a not my problem type of problem.
