Since we can only wear one, it basically means that vicious staff/rod = RIP because only one card slot... The difference between vicious and crimson is lost because it would require one to wear OMBH instead of celine or sth like that

As a sorc I'm so disappointed :sob:

Yeah, now Vicious Mind Rod with MDEF Bypass will be more favorable. For Warlocks it is possible to guarantee 100% MDEF piercing when combined with OBMH and Magicians Gloves, while for Sorcerers you cant get 100% but it is still the more the better.

Still better to use the slot for the MDEF Bypass (on rods) and get a >10% against some race charm.

The problem is that with vicious rod it'd require getting more than one since their mdef bypass is restricted to one race. I don't think there are many who can afford several +12 (at the very least) vicious weapons especially that good (25+% mdef bypass, probably int 10) weapons cost a lot by themselves

If the cheap way is what you want best you could get is a Crimson Rod with NP/NCT cards, by now i suppose many of us already have at least one of those lying around either in inventory or storage~

Spellcasters have always needed specialized gears, and it's always been the reason for them being expensive as hell so, that's nothing new.

OBMH = Ordinary Black Magician Hat, it is the best hat for warlocks.

Now only for Crimson Rock. :heh: For all other uses, Celine's Ribbon has just became the superior choice. Or Zaha Doll. Zaha Doll is very good against MVPs.

rwc pin

I always forget that this thing exists... :(

What is it's correct effect, so that I can simulate which one is better for Warlock?

According to this, should be 13%, but I'll make the calculations with your version.

EDIT:
1) You're right, it's the best consistent upper headgear for Warlocks.
2) In this scenario, +14 SoD > +12 VM Rod up to ~30 MDEF. RIP SoD.

3) +15 Crimson > +12 VM Rod by 2.5%, so any MATK +3% Charm should make it "kinda even". Obviously, +13 VM Rod with any charms will be better.

So it means that I can  get a +12 RWC pin instead of OBMH?

Yes, except for Red Lichtern. They need high refine, though. Pref > +9.

I was under the impression that regular mob monsters don't have high MDEF.

I was thinking on going:

Mobs:

+13 Pin, +14 SoD, Magician's glove

MvPs:

+14 OBMH, +14 SoD, Magician's glove and maybe use vesper if needed but may be too lazy to switch.

some monsters have, anx it doesnt have to be a big mdef number to be a big reduction

100 mdef = 45% dmg reduction
50 mdef = 30% dmg reduction
etc

According to Kusanagisama's calculation, even at +14 SOD is not a favorable choice  for warlocks, but of course you can give it a try and prove otherwise, should be interesting to see.

Yeah kusa it would be +14% as the pin has an inherent 1%atk/matk already without upgrades or anything.
