Finally using my gene and taking advantage of the cheap CHB.

 

Is it possible to level potless and solo like GXes? Also, what leveling areas do you go to for solo leveling?

 

Can somebody share their leveling set-ups for genes? Even gameplay vid would be nice.

 

Here's my set-up so far

*Erde EA10 and 2 AS
*I only have +4 mali shadow set.

 

Don't mind the mob scarf. Those were just items I borrowed from my GX.

 

Since I have a Sera, should I switch to Menblatt FAW EA and pump dex? 

 

I've checked in the calc and HF Thana Axe doesn't seem to be a bad choice for a leeching gear. Its damage is almost better than one-handed choices but how come it doesn't seem to be that popular? If it's possible, I'd like to have a leeching weapon as a default since I prefer to facetank mobs like GXes do. 

 

With tengu set, +10 EDA and a succubus pet, is it possible to face tank mobs and survive only through leeching? Kiting is kinda tiring and running around is kinda clunky.

just pick more leech stuff, like Tengu Scroll/Blood Sucker, Succubus Pet, Evil Dragon Armor, etc and you are fine. (wear reductions when needed)

Will racial shields help if I already have deviant garment?

For my GX, I went to these leveling areas:

100-125 - Nogg 2

125-140 - Scaraba 2

140-150 - bifrost 2

150-175 - NCT

 

Are there alternatives aside from bio 4 for genes?

racial shields always help.

you should just NCT if you can get a good killspeed there, proper geared gene is the 2nd fastest killer there after kiel RK (paired with sura)

Even without Pain Killer, your consistent dmg (if you're CC about 3 mobs every time) should give you enough leech at any given level.

 

I use +10 EDA, Tengu set, and Thanatos Hammer and almost never have a need to pot in ET (except certain obvious floors)

 

You can add a malicious shadow set for even greater leeching, and swap to a solar sword when you're low on HP.

Is that with or without deviant? What's the refine and card of your thanatos hammer?

 

Also, for solo leveling (scaraba, bifrost, NCT) ,

 

if I have +10 EDA, blood sucker/tengu set, succubus and a +4 malicious set, do I still need a deviant?

I was leveling a pyro gene last time, around level 140+ hitting in verus (was using DR FAW however)

 

Speed of Light enchant will really help.

Temp str or temp dex?

If I'm not using tengu set, should I still pump str over dex first?

 

Don't you run out of SP easily with SoL? Even with a lot of sp leech on my GX, I still run out of sp when using SoL boots.

If you dont have a tengu set, you can still get 120str, but it's just not as fantastic.

SP proc from EDA and thanatos hammer makes me never have the need to pot

How often do you use your thana hammer? Doesn't it lower your damage by a lot? 

What's the + and card on that btw?

Homunculus Sera Massive Damage Reduction (DamRed) skill/ or Eira resurrection

spell may help accessories DamRed.

Leeching gears can do without Pot/COOK build ? Potion Brewer Set.

I've been leveling my gene at NCT with no DR, and face tanking mobs. I recorded my leveling streak yesterday sonif you want I can share it. My leechig setup is, +10 EDA, Thanatos hammer with hunter fly, and a Nigg garmet with raydric, I was also using a incubus pet but it was overkill really. And of course I am using Cylinder Hairband. My thana hammer is +9. Hitting bells for like 22k per hit. Need to work on damage, but even right now I am leveling super fast. 2 levels yesterday.

I level up my GX there to 175 and the gene feels a little faster actually.

I'll post a video when I get home.
