Not sure if i should try getting this skill. Alot of skill points just to get it but seems like it can be fun turning people into bombs in pvp, or maybe help in pvm? I wanna see you thoughts before i start alloting points for it. Rms says cards and weapon element dont effect it, but irowiki doesnt mention it at all. Both even show slightly different formulas for each site.

Back in the day i had a pure Dagger Assasin with Venom splasher. Out of experience i can say that poison react can actually deal some damage, but venom splasher is so extremly situational that you almost never have a chance to use it. Its really not worth it. Since restart uses renewal mechanics , dual dagger isnt worth it in the first play in my opinion

Irowiki just states that you simply use it and wait. The 1/4 hp requirement is removed iirc. That doesnt seem very situational.

Do %modifiers (or attack boosting cards,items, equips) effect venom splasher? This is the question i mainly want to know.

they affect, just EDP(wich is not in the game atm) doesnt affect it.

It can be nice for pvp purposes, to count the explosion time and combo it with sonic blow to burst ppl. Other than that it doesn't have many uses.

As for it's aoe damage, it will divide the damage by the number of enemies in a 3x3 area around the target. Not that the skill hits in a 5x5, if enemies are in the last cell range from the explosion and not in the small 3x3 area, the damage wont be divided and it will deal full dmg.

Thanks ashuckle, i will get it for the sheer enjoyment factor. And like you said, sonic splasher combo was what i was thinking when i posted this. I sadly cant max sonic blow and poison react together for a bit more splasher damage.(shoudve kept katar mastery at lv 6)

Has anyone ever tested this skill on this new server?

When the renewal arrived I tested it on another official server and it used to deal 8.000 of damage on average.

If it is possible for someone who already have the skill to post a screenshot of it in action here, please.

In your opinion, is it safe to use this instead of Sonic Blow / Grimtooth in the current state of the server? In both PvP and PvE?

none of the skills are good atm. GT can be somewhay usefull, but far from good

Eh I'd say GT is a very good PvE skill.  Lets sins mob nearly as well as knights if geared properly.  That said, pretty much all the other sin skills are garbage pre EDP/linkers

Sorry to bother you again, but i watched a few videos of assassins getting high damage on PvP (about 8 ~ 10k) and I became interested in the skill in question.

Again, i tested Venom Splasher a long time ago on another official server and the damage was reasonable in single target.

 

Since it has already been proven that assassin skills are not so useful ATM, i am thinking of giving up Sonic Blow and Grimtooth to put Venom Splasher.

My only fear is the damage itself, since i do not own decent equipment.

 

Anyone with more experience than i could inform me how much damage i can cause with 84 + 6 of STR equipped with a jamadhar without cards? It can be in a medium defense monster or in some player.

This number would help me get a basic idea if the skill is worth it.

i havent played assassin in like 8+ years but from what i remember Venom dust is way better than venom splasher

 

edit: if youre going katars you'd be a fool to not get grimtooth.. it's the best assassin skill besides cloaking

Ok i reskilled at job 24 to get lv8 venom splasher. AND I AM ENJOYING IT! Im currently leveling at seals and having a great time making things explode! I deal more damage than my seemingly useless (in pvm) sonic blow. The bomb timer seems to be really fast though, irowiki says 8.5 seconds yet seems to trigger within 5 seconds, which is a good thing since i was worried i will kill faster than it detonates. I was having one hell of a blast with it, i didnt even notice i used 50 gemstones already. But who cares, i was having so much fun! XD

DMg for splahser only calculate weapon dmg + overall dmg + Element weapon the rest as card, cards effects and  card boost ( only dmg card boosts work because it affects you dmg directly) will be ignored.

cards affect it normally. Only EDP, wich is not even in the game yet, doesnt affect it.

I don't think everyone should be riding this Venom Splasher hype train. It would be a huge mistake to think that in Revo-Classic or in Renewal, Assassins are killers in PVP and WOE.

 

Venom Splasher's damage is computed as:

 

Damage = [(Left Hand Damage = Weapon ATK + Card ATK modifiers) * Weapon Property/Element Bonus + (Right Hand Damage = Card ATK modifiers)] * [(30% * Poison React Level)%] - (Target DEF)

 

Damage will always be Poison property.

 

With that said, Venom Splasher can be useful but never good enough to warrant the dedication of 30 skill points for. It is a gimmick. I've played the Assassin class since 2003 and this is coming from my knowledge of the job class - Assassins are not killers in PVP or WOE for Revo-Classic or Renewal regardless of the build. Stick to what works - GT and status arrows. I wouldn't even recommend getting SB since the damage is just not that good.

Ever since the rebel patch you can no longer equip arrows without bow in renewal chaos. I don't know about Odin.
