Okay, I started playing iRO for a few days ago and decided to play a Thief character. I haven't gotten a clear thought on how my thief should come out to be or whether I want to be a Rogue or an Assassin. That said, I went with a general guide to build AGI as much as I can with a little STR and some DEX.
Currently, my thief is level 42/40 and my stats are as follow:

STR 23+5 (+2 STR from a upgraded Eden Hat)
AGI 53+3
VIT 1+1
INT 1+1
DEX 22+2
LUK 1+2

My current skills are:

10 Double Attack
10 Perfect Dodge
10 Steal
7 Envenom
1 Hiding
1 Detoxify

Based my thief's build which stats do you guys think I should follow up on and what do you guys think my thief should ought to be? Any tips from you guys would be awesome.

i think it is not good..u atleast need hiding 3...what happend to str? 23 is not goood..

i recmd u to change job at 50jlvl,bcoz after renewal 50jobs r so easy..

1st what are u going take assassin or rouge?

Assassin = high dmg output (dual dagger and katars), sonic blow and later on SD.
Rogue = meh dps, only redeeming skill is the auto-steal (intimidation w/o preserve sucks)

btw they really should rename intimidation to imitation, since that's what it is. Imitate other job skills.

I don't have a particular play style. I am mixed towards killing things quick and nabbing twice the amount of loot I could get. I am leaning my goal towards being able to participate in major events like War of Emperium, but I am guessing it will take a LOT of money and the proper gear to do so. From what I learned about the Rogue class, they are street thugs with the ability to steal things and strip people of their defenses and Assassins they can utilize multiple weapons in both their hands for fast and larger damage and learn to use stronger poisons.

dude i think that ...assassin can be a good choice,bcoz u can learn easily the way to handle assassin than rouge since u r newbie...

u require hiding lvl 3 inorder to turn on clocking,and what is use of agi when there is no str, try this stats.

at lvl 60
str 50+
dex 30
agi 60+

and change ur job at 50jlvl bcoz u get bonus statpoints and skillpoints.. all the best!

Okay, after some time thinking and leveling I decided I want to be an Assassin. I want to be able to kill things quick without suffering too much deaths. Right now I am level 56/49 and planning to advance when I hit Job level 50. My stats right now are:

STR 33+6
AGI 63+3
VIT 1+2
INT 1+1
DEX 25+4
LUK 1+3

I have some stat points remaining to allocate. So far what do guys think should I work on increasing for an Assassin?

just a heads up when your lvl 90 somthing your dex needs to be at least 70 for soloing

40 dex is enuf u ll miss 1/10,rarely.

dude 40 dex is even sufficient enough to hit roween, Leveling stops there really without dex.
I have tried roween when I only had 54 Dex at level 80, just fails really.


70 DEX, 70 STR, 90 AGI, xx Vit IS the standard stat for any NON-TRANS melee character these days.
If you go 10 stat different from 70/70/90, you cant go wrong surely.

my lk has 373 hit and still missing roweens

So, what your saying is I may have to pour a lot of stat points into DEX to be able to hit monsters at a higher level, unless I go for a critical build? Looks like I may have to consider adding some to LUK or find other monsters to level off on. I am using katars at the moment, don't know if that helps. :/

i suggest u go dual daggar for your pre trans days, for this kind of built u need to max all the venom related skills, hence u dont need the sonic blow, grim tooth, katar mastery etc

thx to double hit, dual daggar can get u alot of melee damage, and u need about 60-70 dex for roweens,

i dont encourgae crit, unless u have super high amount of zeny for buying equips, coz u need like 60 luk(without +luk gear) for natural crit(for all crit attack u need to have like 40 crit points)

Max all your venom skills? That is so retarded. Only poison skill that is at least useful is poison react.
With that build regular Jama will work better than Eden-daggers; assuming that he is a poor bastard. Still you have to retest this out with max mastery

The only cheap crit gear at the moment is cursed brooches then go for 30 luk if you can. Like this you can have around 23*2 crit rate on katar.

Yes I know, but you still will miss Roween more than half the time at level 90 with 40 base DEX.

for lvl 90 stapo too gives better exp
