In the new patch there was a new update which made you unable to talk or change who you're whispering to while doing simple actions such as jumping, walking, buffing or using a spell. I don't see what this is gonna fix at all and instead it's just become an annoying part of the game really quickly. Most people I know often talk during their animations either in PvP or PvE. It's a fun way to kill time and think of something else while you're killing the same monsters over and over again or you wanna reply to something that happened in PvP while you're attacking such as: "Wtf" or "XD" since I see many people do that and you can't really stop and talk cause 1. You need to be alert when PvPing and you only get chances to talk when you die or you're in mid-animation of a spell. 2. If you're PvEing you're wasting time to stand almost afk for a second before you're able to talk again.

My suggestion here is that you make a cooldown on the Alt + Numbers so people can't spam it, just give it like a 0.3 second cooldown and people wont bother as much. As for the chatting and whispering I'd suggest reverting the change both in PvE and PvP and instead making you unable to do /sleep, /yay, /sit etc and instead use the menu with the following actions that has been provided to you over the chatbox. My first thought when I heard this change was: "Why?" I don't see the point of doing it and rather than helping, it's just making everything more annoying than before to play the game as it was intended. Classes such as Invokers or Summoners will probably not care at all since they are too busy to hold down X and can't use the chat, but classes such as Savages with headspin lasting for 3-4 seconds, Archers being in air for 2-3 seconds thanks to shootdown and traps or twins while they're charging up their ghost fighter spell or whatever. The buff that bothers all classes though is "Charge Awakening" since you have to stand still for up to 8-10 seconds to charge it up and most people I know in PvP type during that time.

Here is a video to prove my point of what I'm trying to make and it's just frustrating to play the game normally right now if you have an active guild or whisper that you wanna talk to while farming or PvPing since a lot of players are able to multitask on MMORPGs

I will talk. As I already pointed out this "lag walk fix" won't be reverted for PvP. End of discussion.

It might not have to be completely reverted but at least try make something in between instead of completely restricting the use of chatting. If you can make people unable to chat during the time while you're walking or in the use of a spell I think there's a lot better solutions out there. Also I pointed out a lot of PvE aspects as well since it's probably more towards PvE than PvP in the first place. Have an open mind and think of different solutions instead of just completely blocking it off just like the Movement speed and attack speed caps. There are better ways around this.

Edit: To me it doesn't seem like we're on the same page or you've just skimmed thru the text being nonchalant and not watched the 2 minute video since if the forum is correct and I've been refreshing every minute it means that you both read and watched the video in less than 2 minutes. Let us talk! is the title, not the entire content.

Thank you for your feedback regarding this matter! Please know that all the information regarding your suggestion and concerns stated here have been forwarded to the Dragon Saga team! We appreciate the information you have provided, and the suggestions you have taken the time to put forth regarding the current change to chat in game. As Popcorn has previously stated, this change was a necessary update to resolve an exploit being used in game and there are no plans for reversing this change or implementing a different change at this time. Should anything change regarding this matter we will post further updates.

Thank you for giving me a sign of reading the whole post and taking everything into consideration. Do you mind giving me information about the exploit and how it's being abused or is it private information for higher-ups only? I just wanna voice my opinion to make people able to actually talk even if there's a glitch in the game that's being exploited. Also not having an open mind in a change that was made totally out of nowhere is probably necessary if it's a thing that bothers all of the community being it PvE and PvP. I read up on it and it's an essential skill according to this website D:

This would be the first mmo I have ever played implement this kinda thing where you are unable to talk performing actions. Not very content that there is no work around to give it a proper fix. I'm assuming the bug is extremely detrimental and debilitating to the extent that this change had to go through and having said there will be nothing done till the unforeseen future even though there have been complaints on both pve and pvp sides.

as said on another post, I would personally like this implemented in pvp only.

even just the fact that there is a delay of a quarter of a second AFTER the skill animation is finished makes it impossible for me to speak and play at the same time. it is entirely ruining the social aspect of this game, which is the ONLY reason keeping me here.

 

Also the fact that you can't talk while being dead is a very big negative running hard dungeons, as people can;t tell me when they died so i can resurrect them.

 

Moreover this is adding NOTHING to the game in pve , as the exploit was only used in pvp in the first place.

 

I am all out for that being implemented in pvp, but NOT pve please.

Poppie already stated in the patch notes topic that he is willing to revert this for PVE if it turns out to be annoying and I'm sure this is what is going to happen.

 

 

Regarding PVP, yes it is that bad that even I'm able to abuse it and this means a lot because I'm not very skilled in PVP. (I was used as a test subject to see if it really is that easy to reproduce and it is...) It is really bad and the most people discussing this here are well aware about how bad it really is. I'm talking about that one PVP match in which your enemy used exactly this exploit against you to win by using an unfair way. Some of you might not even be aware that it is this exploit what was used against you and is causing the really strange behavior, while others are aware. I sadly have to say it is very common and commonly used by way too many people to gain unfair advantages over others. It's really bad and I have seen a lot of stuff in the game.

The exploit fix is good for PVP, but maybe a bit to annoying for PVE.

As stated previously, posting information (or videos) regarding exploits is against the rules of the forums. Making posts threatening to quit the game is also a break of the forums terms of use.
