Hello !
So, we all know that mage is one of the easiest class to level up.
Except maybe you, who started playing.
The maps and spawn have changed, so some people may have troubles finding good xp maps ?
I searched in order to xp my mage "fast" (and I mean, really fast).
As information, I am not VIP and haven't used any bubble or battle manual.
I found some threads here, followed them and.... oh gosh, bad ideas !
Mi gaos ? Hah, they give 690/500 xp or so here ! What the hell ? 10k lost.
Geographers ? Well, harpies, etc...
And in early leveling, I tested some things I want to share.
Quick path for leveling
Congratulation, you are a mage.
Now, just outside the mage guild at the north-west of geffen, there is a red-haired lady.
Speak to her. Do it. She'll give you around 3-4 levels AND job levels.
(Do not stop at the first time, continue and choose the option "Quit" / "Go on" in her text box).
Which ease the task as you'll be full int and porings get boring.
Only "difficult" task : give her 10 chrysalis.
So north geffen, kill pupas, if you're lucky you'll get a card. Else it's pretty fast.
So, now you're level 15/4 or so.
Up Cold bolt. Why ? Well anyways you'll need it for Storm gust which is "a must have" as a wizard.
Do not take it to more than 5 though (except if you want).
Equip the Wand the lady give you.
Go to payon. Save. It's better to have Cold bolt lvl 4 here.
Have potions and fly wings in shortcut.
Elder willow one map east.
You OS them with Cold Bolt lv 4. Yeah you're level 15 or so.
They'll give you one full level. One time, two time, etc...
Thing is : cast cold bolt while they're away.
They'll always (or almost) be able to hit you ONCE. It has you lose 90% of your life.
Never 100%. But you OS them. Spam potions, go on. Fly wing in case of emergency.
It takes I think around 30 mins to get base lvl 30.
If you plan to up fire bolt, it'll be easier.
Wolves two maps south payon.
Yeah it's well known, but as a mage you can OS them easily.
Cold/Lightning bolt lvl 10 will do, fire bolt 7 to 5 will do too.
Around 1.2k hp ? Something like that. Try.
You can get to base level 45 or so here quickly.
Then, I was a bit stuck. Where to go ?
Everybody shouting "TOY FACTORY" but lol nope.
It is a good place, I won't tell the contrary. But a really tough place as a mage.
Cruisers will hit you hard, Myst case require you multiple lvl 10 bolts (/fire wall).
For xp around 1300/800 ? Well ok. But there are few, and many, many people (and ks).
Louyang as I said really is bad in its current state.
Geographers are tough too because of all the agro' mobs.
So I remembered one place and gave it a try.
Leaf cats in Ayothaya Dungeon.
You have to do the quest before. It is simple.
Get 1 holy water, 1 solid husk, 1 nine tails, 1 fabric.
You can buy them all for a total of less than 5k in prontera (use ragi.al website if needed).
Then you'll have to speak to two npc, just search "ayothaya quest ragnarok".
Just the first step (talking to the 2 npcs in town) is required. Forget the rest (except if you're adventurous).
Don't forget to save, it costs 10k to go to ayothaya from alberta (on the right side).
Then. Fire bolt lvl 10 OS Leaf cats (with around 70/80 int and arc wand here).
They don't sense cast. They aren't agro. They're looter (making it easy to lure them).
They give (with the +25% from "compensation") : 1800 job xp (and 150 base xp).
Without VIP and so on.
If you don't OS them, no worry. Fire wall make it easy.
And another tip, if your lv 10 bolt don't os them, just walk back.
They'll heal themselves, which allows you to bolt them lv 3 which should kill them then.
You'll get the hang of it.
Only threat : Wutan fighters that will OS you or so. Don't forget fly wings.
But there aren't that many, you can walk away.
If you see them start an attack, click the fly wing shortcut.
You'll see the damages but not take it if you're fast enough (simple reflex, gets easy with experience).
I got job 50 in like 3 hours ? Maybe 4 ?
Also, there are MANY BOTS.
Which has a positive and negative impact here.
They'll kill wutan fighters (that monster change agro easily).
But they'll try to steal your drops (they are valuable if you're a new player !!).
And they'll KS your cats (but as you OS them or so, you'll get almost all the xp and prevent them from KS).
I am no great player, there may be better spots. But this here allows you to get a Mage job 50 in 1 to two 2 days.
Maybe less if you're VIP, heh.
I am not searching for a fight, simply some tips for people like me who were searching on the forum.
And spent 10k for louyang. Or got stuck at toy factory with job level not going up easily.
Or tried to level up at payon cave which is way slower than elder willows.
Or tried clock at lvl 45...
Also, if you're worrying about base xp : it'll be fine once you're a wizard. Way, way easier (many AOE and great help to parties).
