Cash shop items are there to help players kill monsters faster and easier but they are not necessary. You are not forced to have them to play this game. However humans are weak minded and easy to be corrupted. They always fall for ez temptations to be OP.

You can as well use free Eden gears to kill Cash shop geared people in WoE :>

most ppl buy VIP is to reduce death penalty and help leveling, if you don't want it simply mean that u need to be more patient

 

once you got your zeny capital ready, you can even purchase OCP item from other player, some item might be expensive, some not, 

 

if you can start farming instance you should be able to get lot of stuff without really paying them, all you need is a bit patience, and time i guess

not in Thor wherein the only way to get zeny these days is sheer luck from albums or farm MCA for 8m ea and ye aint even sure if it'll get sold before prices go down again.

 

Most good items from OCP= 200minimum (AB ring) and up to 3.5b (Mob Scarf)

Haha Lorenz is right; buying boxes from the cash shop is, technically, "farming" OCP boxes, nowadays. XD

Also, as an actually on-topic comment, RO is an MMO, which means it cannot be beaten by any means. Best to think of it like a sandbox, but infinite.

Nah, you don't need those things in order to be Strong

 

Trust me. Proper stat building and proper gear building base on your stats + practicing and learning on your class makes you strong.

 

 

 

 

​PS: Can we have "Agit lord" event? i mean this is orignally a pRO WOE event but this event is actually exciting, during this even, Boss cards are disabled

It's been 6 years since I started playing the game again. $ spent on game - 0. Instead of money, you end up spending more time on the game..
The road is tough, brutal but not impossible.

Renewal in my opinion :

50% strength based on stats.

50% strength based on gears.

So the right stats and skills make a character 50% still weak.

 

How to maximize character's potential ?

Buy a cash shop items and the company will have more money to eat steak.

 

How about my characters ?

40% potential I guess because of the arbitrary (and weird) build. Yes, I've been playing this game without paying for cash items for years.

There is no end goal or final boss in this game. Leveling-wise, you can get max level without cash items. For faster leveling, you'll be needing VIP sub and maybe some manuals. The game should have gone to party play route for more challenge but it did not. Most of the instances are soloable with decent gear and appropriate job class.

you need at last have a vip subscription to "beat the game" i know you mean "beat" as max your char/money in the game but without throw money to the screen is very difficult
i have a non-main mechanic to farm ori/elu/materials but even so i don't have enough time to farm all day

depends on your definition of beating the game, but in the more general sense, it's possible, will just take longer.

As far as monster encounters/instances are concerned, yeah you can beat everything with close to no gear if just on a coordinated enough party.
