So I'm one of the people who used to play in pRO (Philippines Ragnarok) and was moved to iRO Thor due to pRO shutting down, but the population is really low compared to Chaos and now I'm wondering if I should move to Chaos for a bigger community. What do you guys think? Are there pros and cons to each servers? Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

First if you don't mind heavy lags, then try phRO.

Second before you start over in Chaos, you might want consider trying Odin as well.

Chaos is a very old server where zeny is heavily inflated. WoE is dead and it is a pure PvM server. However in PvM aspect, you do not need to gear yourself to teeth which means you probably don't have to beat yourself up trying to be strong. AIs don't care.. Many unsold MvPs in the market and only few certain MvPs are on demand. Whatever new update arrives, the market will be saturated within a month or so due to multi clients or some people simply have time to run many characters on that new instance everyday.

Odin is a two months old server. It's very new. The server population is somewhat 7-8k but imo the real players are estimated to be around 1.5-2.5k jjudging from Odin forums activities and WoE last night (It was fun but it's not as crowded at all given the server has 7-8k online users). Botting is crazy there as last time I heard some people already have over 100m in Odin. However if you work hard, you still can buy any item without spending $$$ for now.

And you forgot to mention that Odin has very few contents compared to Chaos, it is called 'restart' for a reason. Theres no 2-2 classes yet, though will be added soon. No transcendent classes, and of course no 3rd classes. Many quests/instances/monsters/items do not exist on Odin, and apparently there is no website like iRO Wiki and Divine-Pride to help you when you need something. Chaos already got updates from EP 16.1, and it may take years for Odin to finally get all these contents. For complete newbies this may not seem to be a problem, but if you are used to renewal contents such as third class characters, it is not recommended to play on Odin.

Thor has it's charms. the people are good, kind, helpful and want to see the community grow. There isn't a problem with bots as there is with Chaos. Main downside I've had with Thor is the market.  It's definitely a sellers market and they set the prices. On the upswing though, they usually are more willing to work with you, wanting to see the community thrive.

 

 Chaos has a large community and lots of new users setting out on their journey every day. More of a personal question of; Do you want to see and interact with lots of users? Then Chaos is your server.

Or maybe, you want to interact with users but you find out that you end up interacting with bots most of the time.

 

Seriously though, despite all the downsides of Chaos, I would still consider it the go-to choice unless you are a complete newbie and have no idea about RO at all.

Why not both?

If you are a true pRO player then you won't leave your mother server for another. That's called treason. The national hero is facepalming on you. Stay in Thor. The difference is not that huge. Same gameplay, same features, same events... They are all the same. Almost everything is soloable so why look for a bigger populace? If you just want woe then don't. WOE is dead in Chaos before even Thor arrive. MVPing is a pain too. Too many competition. Much more than what Thor can offer you.

Though, at the end of the day the suggestion here will remain as suggestions... You as a player will have to decide on your own.

Quest items arent luxury mind you, its actually really hard to sell due to people trynna obtain a lot for selling

The only thing that chaos is better than thor is their active market,,, as in the RMT market. Gameplay wise, thor has a lot of fun. But take into consideration phRO and Odin RE:Start, they are basically for players like you

meanwhile Thor still having hard time to get cheap WPE but Ez MvPing.

MvPing in Chaos is really competitive, the difficulty is above, harder.

from :

- You vs Entire Guild mvping,

- A guy that goes mis-clicking you for a trade, making your character stopped walking to mvp meanwhile his friends kill it.

- Tomb Master , the guy that so pro in hiding MvP's tomb behind the bushes.

- The Paranormal, the guy that possessed by evil spirit from Old Duped Mirror, making him know where the mvp location is,

as i have followed them multiple times.

- One-Punch Man : one hit and one button mvping.

just wanted to go to inside their PVP, its full

saw so many people. Competitive and Friendly PvP

 

meanwhile in Chaos, its so dead, like no one wants to pvp

except the same guy in Izlude that going to proudly record him beating your ass,

few hours later, you will find it on youtube with 2 choices of title

 

if you are noob, he will trash-talking you in the video

if you are strong, he will accuse you using cheat, with the recorded video as proof.

 

Thats why by merging, both servers will get the benefits.

Thor will get Chaos server pvm benefits, like cheap and easy to get WPE etc

WoE schedules will be based on USA west coast times if they do merge. Not like they're going to have GMs clock in the middle of the night outside of Campitor.
