Hello, everyone! Well I have been on hiatus with my WL for quite sometime but decided to give it a shot again. I have grinded my last few levels to reach 150 for NCT. Problem is I find it difficult to kill efficiently :/ it takes me about 3 casts of CR (~60k damage) to kill a Big Bell (1st CR amped and 2 CR from Release). The following gears which I mainly use are:

+10 OBMH of Fire
Mid HG of Fire
Love Piece

Diabolous Robe of Axis
+12 Thorn Staff of Darkness Spell3,Spell3

+4 Valk Shield of Basis

+9 Immune FAW Spell 19
+9 Dex Temporal Boots of Sorcery
Teleport Alchemy Glove
Magician's Gloves

(I have crappy shadow gears as of the moment, so I won't mention them :P)

other items I can use to switch:
+10 Resistant MBS
+13 Crimson Rod (Clean)
+12 Staff of Destruction Spell4 Spell4 (Clean)

From the different guides and videos I have seen, BB and NP have been defaulted by casters to inflict maximum (or at least enough) damage for efficient leveling. While this is the norm, can it still be possibly done without this combo set? Can I  have a decent set-up wherein I can dish out damage enough to kill BB with 2 casts of CR?

I am willing to spend more to improve this set, but with the funds I have currently I have to choose wisely. I am considering to get a Flattery Robe and card it with an EC card (for an extra 250 matk), and thinking that this will suffice to cover the damage I lack. Mob Scarf is totally out of picture aotm. A NAM FAW could be considered, but is not of high priority, as I can't have much use of this after hitting 175. And also those shadow gears that boost magic damage to formless monsters. :P

I am looking forward to your suggestions and feedbacks. Thanks in advance! :)

I'd get items in this order, then try again before investing in new item.

0 - Use your MBS instead of the valk shield. The damage it adds helps more than it seems (probably won't be enough to reduce one hit though);

1 - Trade your FAW for a Flame FAW (Ancient Mummy Card) - The 5% Neutral Resist will not make a big difference, the +27% fire damage (at +9) will;

2 - Get a +15 Crimson Rod. You will want one later anyways (by here, it's very likely that you'll already be able to one-shot them);

3.1 - Get a Flattery Robe and leave it uncarded for later - If you have enough, buy one with double Int runes, but if it's more expensive than a Mob Scarf go to 3.2;

3.2 - Mob Scarf + Sunglasses (unslotted - buy for 5K in Alberta) - Swap 3.2 and 3.1 adjusting to your budget. The Mob Scarf will add more damage, but is also a lot more expensive (there's one selling for 1B in Ragial right now, but it's likely a troll... I'd try to buy it if I was you anyways);

3 - Big Ben + Neo Punk combo. This won't add that much damage for NCT monsters, but they're a must for MVP hunting.

0 - I'll try to use the MBS then and try to be comfortable with it.
1 - NAM card is costly in Thor, I think a straight trade with my immune FAW won't cut it. I'll try to work on how to get this, maybe farm my own NAM card (in which I could also get the other NP cards)
2. I am not sure if I will be able to buy a +15 Crimson Rod. I already have one +13 Crimson Rod and is uncarded at the moment, I think I will have to work with this for quite sometime.
3.1 Flattery Robe is of top priority, with my level (+150 matk bonus) and carding it with EC (+100 matk) this is as much matk boost I can get that's within my budget. I would want to have int runes enchantments with it, but how does the enchantment work? and what catalyst? I fail to find any guide regarding this. I also have a schedule strict work that's why I can't do much of the daily banquet quest.
3.2 Way out of the budget. I am playing in Thor btw. And Mob Scarf is priced at around 2.5-3b, whilst 1,200 honor tokens for the Robes are sold at 500-600m. So definitely going with the robe.
3. Do I still need Big Ben + Neo Punk even if I have Magician's Gloves?

Thank you for the suggestions, Sir Kusa :)

mob scarf is more like 1,5 but the one thats vended atm is just a showoff, he wants offers for the stuff he has in shop (zeny stackd)

It'll drop even more as few people actually play caster classes, RK, Gene, ranger and GX are too famous in comparism and they dont benefit much from it. (aside from few builds)

/edit: nvm, dont know about the situation in thor and how price is there.

Sorry, man, I made that order with Chaos prices in mind. EC Card here is 5B, so I figured all the rest would be way easier for you to get your hands on.

Anyways, the real core item for leveling in NCT with Crimso Rock (which is also the most efficient way to level as a warlock there) is the NAM card. Back in my day, I farmed mine and traded my Immune FAW for a clean one. XD If it's that difficult, and you already have an EC card, go for the Flattery Robe. You can do 16.1 dailies later and try to enchant it, but EC card is still not recognized as a MVP card here, and as a "bonus", if you decard the robe you'll lose the enchants. Still, you probably won't be able to one-shot Big Bells without NAM card.

Anyways, since you are not using a Skull Cap, your +13 Crimson Rod should be consideranbly better than the TSOD. Give it a try. Try your SoD as well... just try everything you got! XD

And about NCT/NP combos you'll need them only if you want to kill MVPs with your warlock. That ~20% remaining MDEF will make a very big difference in your damage.

No worries, all of your input is appreciated :)

Yes, my thoughts are affirmed then that a NAM FAW would be most vital for the NCT setup. I am just hesitant to prioritize it as I don't know how I would make use of it when I already maxed out. It would be hard to re-sell, knowing how Thor market works, if a buyer happens to show up I am sure he'd low ball me to death. That is the reason why I want to get a Flattery Robe first, cause I know I'd stick with it even after 175. Maybe I'll try to secure the Flattery Robe first then go for a NAM FAW. :)

I have a +9 KK Skull Cap, so I'll try that with the TSOD, would have been better if it was carded with red lichtern. I tried using the +13 Crimson Rod and it is a tad better than the tsod, though I'd stick with the TSOD for faster casts, maybe if I have Cobalt Mineral to put in the Crimson Rod I'd switch with that, but the card is nowhere to be found in the market (last vend was back in 2015). I tried the set up with SoD, and it gives out the best damage, though having no shield hurts a lot lol

I guess I will not opt to look for the NCT/NP combo cards. I don't plan to MVP with my WL (yet) so I'd stick with priorities.

Thanks a lot, Kusa! Cheers :)

*it's the second time I edited, I keep typing "NAW" instead of  "NAM" HAHAHAHAH
*edited the 3rd time, missed the other "NAW" hahahahaha

It is possible, if you simply want to kill with 2 casts, leveling in NCT is doable even if you need 3+ casts. However, without the NCT card combo, it is very difficult to OHKO. From my experience, the ability to OHKO Big Bell is crucial for speed leveling, otherwise you will be way too slow and have to heal/kite a lot. I find it a lot more easier and comfortable once I am able to OHKO, but the choice is on you.

In my case even with decent gears, it's still not posible to one shot xD.

Here's my setup:

Mob Scarf + Sunglasses

+11 Flattery Robe int 2/1 (uncarded)

+15 crimson rod and +9 Valk Shield (NCT combo)

+9 Flame FAW spell 19

+9 Temp int with N.Verit

+9 OBMH with Red Lichtern

+9 Spellflow/Magical Shadow set

Magician's Gloves and RWC pendant with spell 2, matk 2%

What is your current level and the damage you deal with Crimson Rock right now? Big Bell has 166k HP, if Crimson Rock does close to 160k you may try to change Valk Shield to +12 Mad Bunny Shield, which adds a bit more MATK.

Just tried it on my maxed Warlock, with Eden buff and Mystical Amp damage is around 157k, without Mystical Amp damage is stable around 130k damage... Can easily two shot but rip on the idea of one shotting xD

I'd like to do it with OHKO, problem is I have tight funds, so I only opt for those items well within my budget and will benefit me even after maxing out.

Change your RWC pendant for Alchemy Gloves, Gabriel. They cost ~100K each.

If you have +12 Mad Bunny Shield now, you wont need the Spellflow Shadow Set anymore. Instead, try the Beholder Shoes(Shadow), at +9 it gives you 5% more damage against Formless Enemies. This should be enough to make OHKO consistent for you against Big Bells, note the iRO Wiki description isnt correct on this one, it is effective for both physical and magical attacks, not just physical(thanks Kubiyuu for confirming this in another thread).

Sorry to budge in, just curious. What card would you put into C. Rod aside the Big Ben, since it has 2 slots? And what specific WL build will suffice for MVP hunting? For example, Demon/Formless MVPs since I am planning to buy Neo Punk card(as I have the Big Ben already). Do you guys also have separate set i.e. Nightmare Mimic/Nightmare Arclouse to cover the Brute/Undead MVPs? I wanted to focus on the former combo, since having them all would be costly gear-wise. Any tips?

I finally got my hands on a Flattery Robe :3 With EC card in it the damage difference is quite significant. I can finally 2 shot (1 amped and 1 release) the mobs. I can do this consistently with the SoD that I have, problem is I can't manage to keep up with the bells hitting me; I die almost everytime SW ran out  :sob:  I am aiming to make a +9 NAM FAW Spell19 so I can wear a shield to increase survivability. Currently farming at N.Pyramid for a NAM Card - wish me luck!  :rice:  :rice:  :rice:
