I am running a Vit Based SVD Knight. I ll be getting Bowling Bash 10. Should I invest in Pierce and Spear Boomerang seeing how Pierce can be spammed well in PVP environments and SB is good for tackling distant wizards/hunters? What is recommended for MVPing - Bowling Bash or Spamming Pierce?

 

 

Is it recommended to max One Hand Sword mastery or Spear Mastery? I don't seem to have enough skill points. For Swordie stage I do need Endure ten for both not flinching and the 10 MDEF. Increase HP has to be 10 for spamming pots.

MVPing?  You need a little more DEX.  BB offers no bonus hit.  You actually need 70 HIT to guarantee BB spamming on certain MvPs (60 + 10 Bless).  You may still want a hint of AGI for better spamming of either skill:

 

BASE STATS

STR 82

AGI 25 <-With a berserk + AGI UP 10, a 1h Sword has exactly 177 ASPD, which is a nice clean number

VIT 90

INT 4 <-Almost no extra SP, but you gain one extra point in SP regen, which will help a mite with spamming under Magnificat...or you can just dump this for another point in AGI for no noticeable anything, or 4 points in LUCK if you prefer...for 1 extra attack!

DEX 54

LUCK 1

 

However, note that going BB and MVP, unless Godlike or someone else with a level 99 Knight actively MVPing wants to chime in, I would recommend 64 base DEX, or aim for a Mummy card.  At least levels are lower than in Renewal, so 60 should be sufficient in most cases with BB.

 

BB versus Pierce?  Pierce outperforms against BB under the following conditions:

 

1) MVP is large

2) You have 168+ ASPD with Pierce...at this point the spammability of Pierce is about even with a 182 ASPD 2HQuicken BB spammer...assuming of course the enemy is large.  At this point Pierce will start to outdo BB little by little as ASPD/AGI go up.  However, Pierce will never out-damage BB on medium or small on this server.  You can on Medium at 188 ASPD...if you're not lagging and pinging under 100, but this is only due to BB's delay...and technically you'd have to be a 3rd class to make this possible while still dealing damage, so ignore it.

3) BB has no bonus to HIT, Pierce gives an additional 50% more hit rate.  So faster MVPs definitely benefit from Pierce given the lack of Spear Dynamo.

 

 

However, I should note BB weaponry offers a lot more raw power, base attack, and card slots, and are easier to farm and get to +7/9/10/12.  This is true for both 2h Swords ( Claymore [2] ) and 1h Swords ( Flamberge [2] ).

 

So right now...BB is cheaper to build, cheaper to build well, cheaper to access higher damage weaponry, and cheaper to boost in output.  Spear is kind of a pipe dream atm.  Essentially, to properly build my beloved Spear Hybrid Knight, I may have to make a pure BB 1h/2h Sword Knight.  Nevermind most of the best 2h Spears for Knights (and Saders) aren't even in the game atm because the drop tables are different from old RO (for instance, Brionac used to be a Doppleganger drop, and Hellfire either an Orc Lord or an Eddga drop).

3) Use a 2-h Sword if you can tank the MVP without a shield, swap to Racial Shield / Alice if about to take a big hit like Clashing Spiral then switch back

4) All other MVPs that hit way too hard and will get 1-shotted then you will use a Alice / Racial shield and a Gungnir / Poll Axe / Quad Mummy Pike if poor

5) (Optional) multi-client Priest

 

You don't need that much STR. Get around 80 and get some AGI. BB'ing faster is important. As for VIT, consider that the point of VIT is to have a health pool big enough so you don't get 1-shotted. Some of the big hitters out there

right now are Hell's Judgement, Clashing Spiral, Doppelganger auto attack crits, Bapho's LoV, Drake Waterballs, multiple Dark Illusion meteors at once, and of course Earthquake and some things like Orc Lord's 40k Bolts but you can't survive those in most cases anyway. With Firelock's and 80 Base VIT my knight is at exactly 16673 HP. The list I just mentioned become just barely survivable.

I dont know much about renewal mechanics but in classical RO 100 Str used to give a significantly higher breakpoint bonus than other str breakpoints below it. Though yes I can consider lowering STR for more DEX. Does Agi significantly improve spamming?

I have 80 + 10 VIT, at Lv. 99. I can't remember the last time I was stunned. Every point of VIT increases your stun immunity by 1% as well as reduce its overall duration if you do get stunned. So if you do get stunned it'd be extremely short (half a second or less probably). As for the AGI, I BB"d my way to Lv. 99 with 1 AGI point as I was undecided back then on my final build. I believe I had 179 or 180 ASPD with self and priest buffs when I was leveling. I now have 183 ASPD with self + priest buffs and it is indeed noticeable.

Your build is fine. Judging from your current stats you are around Lv. 95. If so then not sure if you can reach 184 aspd. I put on a Mura and its +8% aspd didn't bump me up to 184.

Are you using berserk potions or awakes? With 40 agi and 60 dex, 2hq, berserks, and bless/agi you should be at 185

The Agi is high. I want to go with a 1H Spear + shield Build. Swords and Spears have different % damages on Large and Medium mobs including Boss Mobs.
