As the title says, which is better for farming - MVP, PVM mostly.

I have both and now I want to consider if I should stick to my Knight or Blacksmith.

Knight is a SVD 2h sword. Blacksmith a 2h axe.

Anyways, let me know your thoughts on both classes!

Thanks

I would probably say the Knight is better.

Knights have more survivablity than Blacksmiths.

If you have a friendly Priest to buff your Knight you'd be even better off...otherwise you're chugging down potions to help with health, sp, and attack speed.

Got it.

As for the weapon whats better? a VVS 2 handed claymore or sword (depends on budget) or 2 handed Claymore (2)?

Btw, which cards should we use? This is mostly PVM and MVP.

Knights are waaay better than bsmith in pvm and mvp. Bowling bash is just simply the answer. Bowling bash is waaay stronger than cart revo for mob killing and waaay stronger than mammonite in single target damaging. Also that knights have waaay more hp, waaay better armor choices, better weapon choices, and waaay better healing.

As a 2 hander Ill use a Claymore (sword) but 1 hander I've seen people use spears?

My current skill build is:

Sword Mastery: 1

2h Sword Mastery: 10

Increase HP: 10

Magnum Break: 3

Provoke: 5

Endure: 10

Knight:

Two Hand Quicken: 10

Counter: 3

Which skills should I max? It would be cool to use spears and sword o.o

True, but a few things to make note of:

1) Mammo is easier to spam, and at higher aspd, especially due to the lack of a cooldown and a simpler/shorter animation, can easily achieve a higher DPS than BB on everything.  The problem is it becomes VERY costly given the 1k per usage.  It's difficult to spam this early on unless you have certain advantages, decent luck with drops on maps with high value items, know where to farm NPC resales and are willing to spend the extra time, or are VIP and thus have an easier time making money in npc sales per map or finding cards.

While BB is ultimately the better skill, in terms of killing an MvP, an equivalent Mammo spamming built BS will out-DPS a BB knight.  The biggest problem lays in the HP pool and aoe, where Mammo is only single target.

2) While overall weapon options are superior for Knights, 1h weapons offer a slight advantage with an Orcish Axe [4].  The only issue here is making a 4slot Orcish Axe is costly, then getting one to a high enough refinement where its refine bonus (being level 3) makes up for its lower base attack is going to take awhile.  There's also no way to assure a +9 without breaking the weapon given lack of HD ores and Enriched Hammer for the enriched ores (which is a good thing atm).

Those 4s at a +9 or higher refinement make a massive impact in damage for 1h weapons, even compared to a Pole Axe.  Especially considering all of the added buffs Blacksmiths have for boosting damage that factor into Mammo, and given Weapon Research, there's less need of Mummy Cards (though having a quad mummy if an MvP has a power up mode and goes into it, is still a smart idea).

Nevermind the innate advantage of bonus neutral and fire defense from Skin Tempering, and that Axes/Maces are immune to breaking.

---

So there are some benefits to a BS beyond a Knight.  That said, again, that HP pool difference, weapon variety, weapons with special functions that are level 4 (and can be slotted...Gae Bolg, while 2h has that bonus 10% vs Boss and can be slotted for 2s on top of having a decent base attack), and poor options for AoE for a BS do give the knight the advantage.

This is some damn good info. So yeah, each has their pros and cons.

Taking in account all of these factors then the Knight is definitely better in overall for PVM and MVP.
