Hello, I'm new to Ragnarok in general and I'm going for AGI Knight just for pure PvM farming to fund another class(until I figure out what class I should play). So, I was wondering what is a good weapon?(NO MURAMASA's because I don't want to spend any stat points in LUK and get cursed every 10 seconds, don't want to waste money for curse potions or whatsoever just to do a little more damage than my Two-Handed Sword +5).

My Stats right now at Base Lv. 60 Job Lv. 16

Str 40+3

Agi 66+6

Vit 1+4

Int 1

Dex 35+1

Luk 1+1

Claymore[2] or Elemental Claymores are probably the best choices right now

The slotted version. It drops off Doppel which should be easily soloable by a well geared Knight or smart Wizard. I also hear it comes out of OPB and to a lesser extent OBB.

Been using a muramasa since swordsman with 25 luk and havent been cursed once.. must be luck. /gg

I would suggest slotted claymore. Once sage comes out you could endow it.

As for muramasa, I have used it since I could and haven't been cursed once and I'm level 70 agi knight. Im almost 100% sure that isnt implemented on this server. And even if it is. .1% is 1 every 1000 attacks.. just carry some holy waters. You can make a pretty ridiculous build with muramasa. 190 aspd 50 crit is pretty easy and you could still have 50 Dex and 20 vit if you wanted.

Put some luck in general build. I am new to renewal  style ragnarok and just learned that you get an attack boost from luck. Every 3 points of luck you get a 1 atk boost. this becomes more evident when str is in the 80's. it was pointed out to me that adding 3 points of luck instead of 1 str at that point is better since you get additional benefits from luck as well in regards to status defense.

I worked it out on the calc and seems that having your str at 80 and luck 30 (26+4) is the way to go for knight. work it out on your own and see what you come up with.

I just started to play around with it so I am sure that there are better combinations.

With 80 base str and 30 Luk (26 + 4)  432 - 473 Damage range

With 88 base str (-2 over stat points =P) 437 - 478 Damage range

So, damage difference is not very much at all and you get those additional defensive and offensive benefits of luck.

Just wanted to share some of what I learned recently and hope that it helps.

I had in mind something like this for knight farming build...

Str 80 + 8

Agi 78 + 2

Vit 50 + 10

Dex 44 + 6

Luk 24 + 6

Int 1 + 1 (knights are so dumb) x_X

Of course, there is no reason for you to have that much other than some nice stun shield and hp boosts. up to you if you want that or not.

I would definitely say that you should shoot for bastard sword first. upgrade that to +6 and live off of that for a while.

When you hit knight, buy the Claymore from the NPC inside knight guild over in the North East Corner. dude that looks like a swordsman. he sells it to you for 70k and a steel I believe. Only will sell it to swordy though. not merchant. then you can spend your oridecon on that weapon and level with it as knight. better than spending oridecon to upgrade a Two Handed Sword as swordy. at least for me. but I am a patient guy.

good luck to you my friend.

I used to think like yoy, but then i noticed that strcounts for extra weapon atk, while luck doesnt. For example, if you have a 200 atk weap, each point of str is worth 2+1 atk (2 from stat atk and 1 from weapon atk) while 3 luck is worth 2atk (from stat only) if we count that, its not worth much investing luck with str bellow 70. But now for hit purpose, you can get tge hit from luck instead from dex.

Its true that Str adds more atk tha luk does, and its also true that Luk does not add Weapon Attack, but in practice the difference in damage is negligible.

I made some calcs first using a 90 str-60-dex-5luk build, and then using a 80str-60 dex-30luk build. With the same weapon (in this case I used claymore), the same cards and against the same target, the difference between the builds was just around 180 total damage per bowling bash (like 90 dmg per hit) more with the 90 str build than with the 80str build. The difference seems to further decrease the more defense the target has. In contrast with the luck build I gained 8-hit, 5-flee- 8 crit- 3 perfect dodge and had enough spare points to invest in vit for about 500hp more, so in the end its matter of what suits you the most. Its a fair trade-off IMO. Also, if you are using a lvl 3 weapon, you can get more than that 180 dmg back with a a single refine, even more if you are using a lv4 weapon.

Str build might be better against weaker defense targets (like agi characters) or while using low level weapons where you got to compensate for the lack of raw attack.
