At the time it was a Pole axe [1] (with hydra) that I used with a cranial thingy as shield.
The old Vit Spear Knight, which was pretty good at the time.

However times have changed so here is only my humble opinion.
But I think with changes that came with renewal, the high atk of the pole axe is even more valuable ?

1h sword = flamberge

1h spear = pole axe

mace = morning star

 

1h sword for bowling bash

1h spear for pierce

mace if you need unbreakable weapon.

Flamberge it is. Which cards should i slot it with? hydra or zipper?

Zipper bear x2 flamberge can be used on all maps because it isnt carded for specific race of monster like a x2 hydra would limit you to demi humans of course. If you dont mind attack 300 less go with zipper...but if youre anal about 300 hp xD  go hydra. Besides zipper is good starter weap but youll phase it out once you got more richer

Flamberge is great if you have 30% dmg reduction shield whether thara, penomoma...or whatever but if you don't have those Flamberge is much weaker than 2 handed so if you cant afford pots its best in the long run...
