So basically I haven't been able to run Dragon Saga on my desktop as every time I press the start button it loads up a white full screen and then displays the message 'DX9 Renderer Initialization has been failed. You may reboot this computer, and try again.'

Unfortunately I've rebooted... to no avail, STILL doesn't work. So naturally I look it up and it says that I should do the usual fix of going into the config text file and edit the the full screen so that I play in the windowed version. Strangely enough though, instead of the number being 1 as in the video I watched, it was a 2. Never the less, I changed it to a zero, just like in the vid. Didn't work. So I tried changing it to a 1. STILL didn't work. Now I have NO clue what to do... I've seen someone say uninstall and reinstall it, but I want a second opinion before I do that as it takes up a LOT of time... So.. should I? Or is there another solution?

Running on Windows XP,if that helps anything.....

try going to options when u are at the patcher screen and then click window instead of full screen

Solve problem:

 

DX9 renderer initialization failed

 

Folder Gravity > Folder Release > Config > edit Config

 

Will appear various codes, search for:

 

<GAME>

< ITEM NAME = "FLY_TO_CAMERA" VALUE = "2"/>

< ITEM NAME = "FULL_SCREEN" VALUE = "1"/>

< ITEM NAME = "RESOLUTION_HEIGHT" VALUE = "900"/>

< ITEM NAME = "RESOLUTION_WIDTH" VALUE = ""/1600 >

 

 

 

Right-click the desktop Graphics Property view > > resolution of your monitor.

 

 

 

Go back to the Release folder settings and change the resolution the game according the resolution of your pc and save.

If you do not open the game, restart the computer.
