  I don't know why but my Rune Knight Dies instantly after using a skill or a rune randomly? Seriously I tried to avoid dying so badly and this is how I die.

 

My conclusion is thanks for wasting 6 hours of my life grinding for XP that is easily taken away from a stupid bug that instant kills me. Thank You.

Wow! Going by the screenshots, that is some major one-shot you are giving yourself. I don't play the class but do give more info for the rest so that they can tell you what happened. Like what Runes were used and what skills were cast before and after, which resulted in your death. While the exp loss isn't in the millions it is still crazy to see you die for the same amount of damage twice and might I add on two different maps.

 

For those of you who want to view them asap, simply click on either of the image, once it pops-up, click on save to be taken to the photobucket page. Once the page loads, click on their username to be taken to the album page. Finally hit slideshow, pause and click on the first two images to see what's up.

Ok. here's the catch about using Runes:

 

there is a huge chance that you will not die if runes failed to work

 

There is a small chance of teleporting randomly if the runes failed to work

 

 

Or that thing, it is a super duper low chance of happening, i mean, for my 5 years of using RK, i never ever encountered getting killed instantly by runes except drinking Poison bottle which is a pretty bad idea  ​

 

Its not a bug, its is really a feature of runes, i know its stupid but its probability of happening is relatively close to 0

Just remember that runic magic doesnt come from you, you harness it from something else and if that something just went wacko you sir are done for

Please don't use PB as image host. It's not free anymore. It's crap.

Reasons might not entirely with the runes because the rate of failure is less. It may be causrd by your low level of Rune Maatery, low dex and luk or you are just unlucky.

Look onto the Rune Mastery wiki for better understanding.

 Hey guys I thought the bug went away because I actually got my level and didn't die instantly for a few hours. However just now I used a Run and Bam self inflected damage of 90,000 HP.  I don't know if this is connected to my character only or what but I don't think it has to do with the Runes because sometimes using random skills like Aura Blade kills me instantly also. I don't have much to go by except maybe there is a bug that is causing my skills and runes to have the effect of drinking deadly poison? I don't carry around deadly poison on my Rune Knight because that would be just dumb. Also about the comment that it happens on an almost 0% chance, It has happened to me 3 times in a few days, so I don't know what it is. Maybe Ragnarok is just playing a cruel Joke on me. Thanks for everyone for commenting.

wow, men , you're so unlucky... (i guess the worst thing happen to me is random teleportation which again, almost 0%)

 

idk if stats can affect the rune usage success or not, but definitely, my RK don't have this issue during his DPS build eras. well during my early DB RK, i have problems  but no deaths occur(mostly nothing, but one time, i got randomly teleported xD). maybe don't use runes so much if it is not really needed

 

 

 

PS: i'm thinking about the luk stat who dictates the success rate of Rune usage, but that's just an hypothesis, i never tested it before since i don't have death problems. again, not really a bug, its a feature...weird....feature

Never had any problems while using Runes (and I use them whenever I can). Must be because I'm using a DB RK with 120 Dex.

 

According to the iRO Wiki:

Success Rate: [85 + Skill_Lv + (DEX + LUK) ÷ 20]%

 

So basically you need DEX+LUK = 100 to make the success 100% (assuming maxed rune mastery).

The only thing I experienced is nothing happening. It really is not your lucky day. You just need to get used to it or hope you have not roll a die to die.
