I'm partial to the two handed swordsman style with my knight although it lacks the skills that a lance knight would be able to use. I'm just wondering which path i should take before i spend my hard earned on gearing for said pathway.

- Side note, Charge attack plat skill not a thing yet?

Overall raw-damage, THS is way better, Spears are mostly for utility. But their stats and gears are pretty much the same, so don't worry about spending money on gear for one or the other, because they are identical on all slots except hands.

for now 2- handed swords are best, and the plat skills are not in the game atm.

In the current state of the server  Two-handed swords are the best weapons for damage dealing purposes, not because of the weapon type itself, but because of the options available.

1.- Right now the best two-handed swords are Zweihander, Claymore and two-Handed Sword, which pack 200, 180 and 160 atk respectively AND 2 slots. Having 2 Slot its insanely good for weapons with attack that high as you can pump your damage even higher with cards. In comparison,  other job´s equivalent weapons like Hunter Bow, Jamahdar or sword mace only have 1 slot.

2.- Knight has access to one of the best (if not the best) Damage dealing physical skill in Bowling Bash: 1000% ATK (500%x2), AoE. Yes, it can be used even bare- handed, but it becomes even more spammable with  another awesome Knight skill: Two-Hand Quicken (which you require anyways to unlock it lol)

The downsides are that your damage vs middle sized monsters (players included) is not 100% and you cant equip a shield. That´s the moment when you make use of other kind of weapons:
-One handed swords/daggers for better aspd (to deal statuses and the like) and improved damage on middle and small monsters respectively, or...
-One-handed spears for better range, weapon perfection while mounted and being able to use spear skills like spear stab or boomerang for utility . Brandish tough good, doesnt really compare to the raw damage Bowling bash has and requires a heavy investment in spear related skills.

Unfortunately, the options available right now for OneHanded spears are quite lacking or difficult to come by: Pole Axe, a lv4 weapon with card drop rate of a very rare monster, Gungnir, a MVP drop, not so rare but you need to slot it to be of real use and Pike[4] wich is a lvl 1 weapon with very low attack, so you´ll have to card it with zipper bears to bring it up to a decent Atk rate.

The lack of good one handed spears is the only thing holding Brandish back. As far as investing points in any particular skill goes, it all comes down to preference. BB can be used with any weapon, but it requires investment in two skills that are dubious in quality and offer little in the way of utility. The spear skills on the other hand have multiple applications for both PvM and PvP, so the real choice you're making is between having one good skill, or choosing utility and putting out less damage but having more options in combat than just pressing f2 again.

Bowling Bash gives you great flexibility when it comes to weapon types.
For me I use a Muramasa for everyday leveling as it has good attack and gives an aspd-crit boost. The curse drwback is negligible as it last like 3 seconds and has a very low chance of occurring (maybe because I have a few points invested in luk). Muramasa its also great for emp breaking.
For specific maps I use elemental claymores: ground its great for raydrics as hits the wanderers on the weak spot while also allowing you to hit the nightmares.

Never used Tomahawk myself, does the aspd increase compensates the lack of THQ somewhat? I suppose you use shield with it?
