Seriously I am really disappointed with OCP, it has nothing to do with ranger. nowadays ranger=arrow storm, forget about aim bolt,trap and warg, they are just useless in PVP and PVE
maestro and wanderer could do more single target dmg compare to ranger, this class is so boring now.
Just wanna complain about this, nothing more, because I know GMs dont care about this.

Well Rangers surely are not as good as Geneticists nowadays, but they are still among the best classes in iRO. Just not the most OP class now, but only 1 class can be the meta after all, doesnt mean the other classes are weak.

This is only correct for low-mid gear, if you compare well geared ranger to other classes, you will find ranger is boring and weak.

The tears should really be shed by the madmen that love to play VP RGs (like me). Yeah, we've seen a few useful items that help out decently, like Tengu combo, but nothing really outstanding. RG is one of the few jobs left that hasn't gotten a specialized accessory (Spirit King's Ring, Sapphire Wrist, etc). Still holding out hope. T_T

sadly i feel the same at this point about ranger. i already sold most of my ranger gear and quit the class perma, but i did really enjoy doing two things with it: hunting for yellow foxtails since i could oneshot (and it was good money at the start), and casual messing around in bio3, which was for sure more fun since i grew up there as an HP back in original loki days. the memories are just too persistent lol. i was using verdure traps with earth converters and just dragging stuff up the stairs & over the traps.. then one shot. its nice if you're looking for a tough hunting challenge out of boredom. try it sometime? before you lose all interest anyway~

Rangers were never the top of anything, people just hyped them. They are versatile when required but never better at one thing than any other class.
It's true you could get a cheap mora set and elven bow and do some good damage, but that gets outshined later by many classes.
I still main my Ranger because I love the class, but don't for a second believe they are top anything. There can only be one King, that is the Gene. And versing certain mobs, Warlocks can severely out damage even a Gene (looking at you Gloom).

really? isnt it the opposite?
back then, it was ranger = arrow storm. now other skills got supported by the right gears. Aimed bolt, warg, autoattack, traps.
forget about arrow storm already, it just a mob control.

Just wait for the right OCP time and probably you'll get what you deserve.
Yeah, this is for the rage we all felt back in the day, when there was a Ranger KSing everyone, or even in your party, making you feel useless and weak. Now the table has turned.

I just started playing on this server a few months ago so i don't have any idea how rangers was OP back then. All i can say is they somewhat lack gear choices. But it doesn't dictate how you play your character, an AS ranger plays differently from another AS ranger. You can also toss some traps in between and other combination of skills, maybe play other builds such as hybrid, autowarg, dagger trapper or other experimental build. My three closest friend has mained a ranger and looking at our stats and gameplay, we really are different in many ways.
I admit it feels good to be called the "main damage dealer" of the party and to be always in demand in TI's. But once outside of TI(sometimes even from high ti depending on the mobs), many other classes can outshine a ranger when equally geared properly. Not to mention they die pretty quickly.
Even though i play my gene and loving it, and all that being said, my ranger is special to me because she's my first killer class that i played after playing as support AB
(give rangers some love too plx)
