As you know, new gears and card increased cluster bomb dmg, so I tested it in test server.

With

+14 vicious dagger with ranger card

two meg

+14 bio5 headgear

and all atk bonus equipment for rest part(time boots, bio5 garment)

 

the cluster bomb dmg is incredible!

 

Yes, it is, you can do a god damn 80k dmg for each bomb, no mention that u cannot use the bomb directly under the monster!

What is even exciting? We all know nowdays gene is a threat for ranger in PVE, and yes with the bio5 gears gene's cannon ball can only do the dmg as low as 200% as your powerful bomb, and because of the global cooldown time, they can only use cannon ball as slow as your double strafe!

 

Gear up, rangers! Since you are great, you are always welcome to our party!

We do not need gene! Why the hell we need this class as it can only do more single/aoe dmg than ranger, offer fcp, and has a good viability？

 

Any further good news? Of course! You don't need to waste your cash on these new gears! Shut down your computer and have fun with your friends!

Cluster Bomb is melee, having two parts of formula

the 700% is melee, the other one is based on Int and Dex.

 

the only way to increase it is, to increase damage from that 700% melee atk formula,

it can be anything, to use racial cards, AK cards, high atk weapon but the first formula is affected by size modifier, so using dagger is not recommended

except the second part, because it is based on Int and Dex, cant be increased by anything except stats.

 

Most of cases, low lv to mid lv rangers, they do not have Str for that, you cant see the difference

you may see, the damage only increased by little to none when using race modifier cards, that is because your 700% is too small

while your main damage increased or consist from the second part, which is stats.

 

So then, do you think 700% of melee atk can defeat 1000% ranged atk ? not mention it affected by No Limit.

the rule is pretty simple in RO

Ranged atk always be more superior than Melee, due its modifier can be enchanted with a lot of stuff ( their type is increased by %) while Melee for most items ( increased by Flat Atk )

except MvP cards / Luxury stuff, like 15% Atk ( AmdaraisH card )

 

But hey, increasing Atk by % or Flat, it will also increase Ranged Atk Skills as well

while increasing Ranged Atk by % or Flat, it wont increase Melee Atk Skills.

Serisouly, I play archer-sniper-ranger for a long time, and I have gene, rg rk sura at the same time, and I have god items(2 megs) and some MVP cards(kiel,tao. ss,etc)

I might be stupid in micro-control, but the conclusion is simple: for late-game gears, ranger is totally trash in this patch. Ranger are still using ww set for AS. Ranger also use time boots set for wrag/AB built, but these kind of ranger dmg sucks, most of enhancement(including vicious bow 15X15 bonus atk) wont increase wrag dmg and for AB build the dmg is poor unless you have tt or kiel, which is impossible for normal players.

If the new bio5 head gear and ranger card(weapon) can increase aimed bolt dmg instead of cluster bomb, ranger would be much more interesting in this patch.
