Hello fellow ME Priests. Today I was super close to buying myself a Sage's Diary to get my MATK as high as possible at level 99. Before I did this though I stumbled upon the "Gentleman's Staff" which alone doesn't look better than Sage's Diary until you see it's set bonus with a "Magician's Hat". And to top it off I would be able to buy both the Gentleman Staff and Magician Hat together for less than the Sage's Diary.

My question to you guys is: Do you think it's worth it to sacrifice a headgear card slot for the Gentleman/Magician combo? When upgraded to +5 (90% chance with enriched oridecon) the Gentleman/Magician combo would give more MATK than the Sage's Diary. Not to mention it also would give me about +5 DEX (with Drops card) and +2 INT over the Sage's Diary. The +5% SP Recovery would stack nicely with my Eggyra shoes too. Should I go for the Gentleman/Magician or shoot for the Sage's Diary? Or, is there an even more powerful book/rod MATK-wise that I should think about investing in? Edit: Obviously I am going to be replacing these weapons with Divine Cross & Spiritual Ring when they come out, but that's not going to be in the near future. So I am asking specifically for items currently available in our version of the game.

If you're going for best you should also consider higher refines and weapon level.

Sage's Diary +10 = 170matk, and +5% matk for 70+ int

Gent Staff +10 = 195matk, and +10% matk with combo

Divine Cross maybe

This weapon does not exist yet. Such as stated in my post.

Edit: My mistake. It's the Spiritual Ring that does not exist yet. By itself, the Divine Cross is not very good.

It is very nice. Doesnt offer the full reduction of a shield card, but still offers even being a 2h weapon, and has the highest MATK you can get right now (also being lv4, you get a lot of matk from each upgrade)

I am not asking about Divine Cross. Currently it is a horrible weapon choice vs the other available options. Divine Cross' strength comes with the Spiritual Ring set combo which does not exist yet. Plus both Gentleman's Staff and Sage's Diary offer more total MATK than a Divine Cross.

The two weapons I am asking about are Sage Diary and Gentleman's Staff.

Gentleman Staff - 125 matk, lv4
Sage's Diary - 120 matk, lv3

Divine Cross - 210 matk, lv4

85 matk bridge(wich further affects matk variance), same weapon lvl so same bonus from refine.

The only thing you lose on using Divine Cross is 15% reduction from a proper shield. It IS the best damage option, even without the combo.

Sorry I know this isn't on topic but would you share your build or some decent leveling locations you used? Been saving money for awhile to afford and ME priest and I can buy mostly everything needed now. Any info would be appreciated!
