Hello everyone.

 

As you can see with the "Battlesquare problems" topic, BSQ is a really toxic place. People harass and flame each others. The community is not welcoming new players who still have to learn but instead they just ruin their experience by asking them to leave cause they are useless, bullying them, etc...

 

So I'd like to suggest to block the chat in BSQ. People will focus on playing and stop arguing about what people say in forums about BSQ, or the fact that some players are new to this mode / PvP in general.

What makes it toxic are the talks beyond the battlefield. It wouldn't be such a problem if people would only harass each other on that particular place.

But you usually notice that at the end of lost of these BSQs, people trash talks to each other in the Trade chat or through megaphones. So blocking chat on a particular place when the issue is spreading over the whole game is not how you fix it.


Also I'm pretty sure that if BSQ wasn't a thing people would just fight each other in PvP rooms and it would pretty much remain the same. You can't fix social behaviours without limiting to its core the communication of the game. By that I mean blocking the chat entirely from the game and it's fair to say that this won't happen and that it isn't possible for a MMORPG to restrain the community aspects of the game.

Then if people are fighting about who is the best in BSQ in Trade chat it's a sanction. Seriously, this game has rules that the major part of the community doesn't respect.

Simply close the entire chat by clicking on the red "x" in the case you are annoyed by this people while playing BSQ and their talk won't bother you any longer. Or just ignore it, this is the most hurting to that kind of people. Instead have your finger ready on the screenshot button (or on the screenshot button of your external screenshot tool), screen the crap and report to the GM team by using the support ticket system. A behavior like this is called harrassment and as far as I know this kind of behavior is not tolerated by the GM team, means actions against the person(s) doing the harrassments can be taken.

 

As a final solution you can add the particular people to your personal blocklist in the case they continue after the BSQ has ended. (megaphone messages are included into the block funtion)

 

But the best method of all is just to ignore the crap, to report them to the GM team and just to smile and wave, smile and wave...

so because 2 of 10 BSQ conversations are a bit furious you want to disable the whole chat? i think the "x" buttond to hide the chat or the "block-function" to hide the chat of particular player will be more than enough. dont think we need to make a new forum thread everytime we see people ingame argue with each other. IF that really bothers you so badly go write a ticket to the GM team about certain players behaviour, but i think we are all old enough to deal with that ingame.

 

i support the idea of a BLUE / RED Team-Chat once you entered BSQ though, for strategic reasons.

What if I still wanna read the guild chat while playing ? Also, I don't think I'm the only one bothered by drama going on in, or after, every BSQ. You're really optmistic while saying that 2 out of 10 BSQ are getting just a bit furious. No chat in BSQ means less drama, which is what many people want. And, no, we're not all old enough to regulate this ourselves. Age is different from maturity, and as you can see the community is not mature enough for that.

 

And to be honest, the chat is not used for strategic purpose but for flaming / harassing. But I think you know that already.

i meant it as an additional chat window for BSQ.

 

and as i said, the people who spread drama in BSQ arent more than 5. Block them and you are good to go.

In that case keep that one open and ignore all other chat windows. Disable all other chats for the guild chat and only keep that one window open and you won't be bothered by any crap happening in any other chat. Except the harrassment does happen in your guild what I don't assume it is. So you should be fine. Ignoring the idiots is the best way to do it.  No matter what crap they say the moment you close DragonSaga and go back to your RL they and their crap are gone.

I dont even see people writing that much in BSQ, maybe i just dont even notice it because i dont care, but the real rage is always going on in tradechat/megaphone after the BSQ's xd

Oh, believe me they talk. I have many printscreens, and the support already knows about them. 

 

Silencing the chat is a good idea but it won't work. Unfortunately, you cannot change people's mentality.
