Hello all Midgardians!
 
As you may have noticed October has arrived and we're spinning up our Halloween Events.
 
The community team is running a series of "Spook Portal" live steams:

We are also running a Costume Design Contest open to both RO1 and RE:START!

RESTART

  • This week we will be revisiting Mi Gao and Sting EXP values again.
  • Einbroch/Einbech/Mine Dungeon is implemented
  • Crimson Weapons become completely locked down.
  • We have further revised the RESTART update schedule in light of user feedback.
    • October: Einbroch + Einbech + Dungeons
    • November: Crusader/Dancer/Bard/Rogue/Alchemist
    • December: Lighthalzen/Kiel Hyre
    • January: Second Class Skill Quests

RO1

  • Since the studio is back from their national holiday we will be inquiring about the following:
    • Jeremy and the rest of the Malangdo Update
    • Nightmare Toy Factory Cards
    • Shadow Item Questing
  • Rebel Awakening has finished the studio QA process and we are expecting deliveries soon.
  • Some daily quest timers are going to be updated to match the changes we made to their associated instances.
  • Were experimenting with setting the "Uniform Cooldown Resets" on instances with longer cool downs.
  • Were Revisiting the community created class headgears. With the Biolabs update some functional calls started to work as they should. So were going to see about making these work as intended.
  • We are aware of the issues with Tokens of Siegfried in the latest Biolabs update.
    • These are not traditional use items. They can't just be blocked and the only map types that block them have the PVP flag turned on.
    • This leaves us with two choices while we wait for studio feedback.
      • Limit the number of times a character can die on a map where death can be random and instant (Not a good solution)
      • Leave it as is
    • Ultimately we are waiting on guidance from the studio on this particular subject.

Why is Leave it as is even an option?

 

Limit the number of times a character can die, till the studio makes changes.

Just leave it as is bruh. You already fixed the cursed crystal amount to 100 cursed fragment. And those yellow max pain that can wipe every players in party is such a pain in the b**. Restricting the number of use of token of siegfried will only make the bio5 another ghost map after players giving up grinding.

Leave tokens as it is in biolabs, not everyone is as good player as the one posting here in forums. Disable gene maybe

restricting deaths does not mean you can't go back in, but it will at least limit someone from using 100s of tokens, and less abuse towards other players.

The thing is, people are going in and token camping these MVPs for Cursed Fragments. That's it really. They could use at the bare minimum of 30 tokens a day and still be fine, since you can get that from Faceworm per run. They can then get 600m+ worth of loots per kill. So they are essentially trading about 5m in consumables tops for 600m+ in potential loots per kill.

I would agree on leaving the token as it is on bio..or maybe if they really want it ..just restrict it on Chaos server..as cadbury had posted not everyone is as good as the ones that are posting in the forums...

it just depends on the death counter amount, for it to be really bothersome for mob grinding there.
Low enough to not allow too much of an mvp cheese tactic, but high enough to not be punishing to ppl farming there. And tbh, if there's a death counter for parties, this basically forces them to improve and not die as much, wich i kinda like.

I heard it may be possible to make it so an MVP fully recovers its' HP if in idle mode. The only issue there is that if they use a Sura for a tank, or just time with a friend they can still easily be -_-. Maybe if the MVP kills someone it could recover a large portion of health?

Can always have the mobs gain the Morroc minions AI, where it spams 9999 heal on him while Iddle.

Not enough. Even if it was 109989 per second, sadly bombers will out damage this in a single hit due to the high DEF values of the MVPs.

Just make the MVP use Hell's Power 100% when attacking, idle and chasing. If the duration of Hells Power can be adjusted so it's 30s-1 minute, that makes it even better.

If they spam it as fast as Muspelköll does, all of the slaves, its very unlikely to be outdamaged :v

Should really tell the studio to change the way max pain works, this is iRO people will use it to kill other parties. Should only kill those that attack it.

Its not really about disabling tokening on the mvp, but rather just make it not worth it for the sake of efficiency. k
If the mvp is able to heal for 100~200k hp in the 1s that took you to token back up and grab aggro again, its already a big hit to the strategy.

Another thing could be giving Margaretha the ability to Renovatio her companions, and Celia the ability to use Warmer. With a huge HP pool and regen kicks in really hard.

But it is about the tokens ash, it's the token spamming that makes it a viable cheese strategy.

if you cant outdamage the healed ammount it isnt viable a anymore :v
