Hello~

I used to play RO a long long time ago... (Last time was back around 2010)

And my main character was a Sin followed by my Sage...

Now that I am back, I figured I would go Thief again, but this time go Rogue...

As I thought it would be a nice class to make money, level, etc... with.

So I am focusing on stealing to get items and zeny going.

(Maybe make a merch to sell off excess)

 

Anyways!

I am looking for builds and suggestions on making the ideal Rogue...

I know I need a focus of Str, Agi, and Dex...

But not sure what states and skills I should go primarily...

 

Any suggestions would be welcomed greatly!

If you plan to farm items or get rich, better choose GX. Even though Rogues have the ability steal items, it is null compared to GXs ability to farm and level up.

 

But if you still want to go Rogue, here is what I can suggest based in my opinion:

 

Rogue Skill Build -  It is set up this way to complement a STR based build, with a STR build you'll be able to carry more items(for you to sell to NPCs) or SP regen items. My suggested leveling method would be to spam Sightless Mind, collect mobs hide and then use Sightless Mind (I'd make a quick video on how to spam it but my PC is double right now). 

 

With the recent introduction of the Shadow Rings your Back Stab damage will allow you to almost 1 hit monsters that you are having a hard time killing.

 

Rogue Stat Build -  STR for damage using daggers, AGI for attack speed and to allow you to spam Sightless Mind faster, DEX to hit enemies and a little VIT for tanking damage.

Why is Steal only level 8? Is the chance increase insignificant?

Oh yeah, he can either get lvl 8 of Envenom or Steal but since he wants to Steal then better get it to lvl 10 for increased chance of success.

 

I just got used to it as I've always prioritized Envenom and used it effectively for status infliction pre-renewal era(popping out of hiding and then spamming it on the target while using quad freezing knife).

Would be great actually if steal chance is like the description, not related to the item drop rate

Eventually I will make my GX, but this character is primarily for farming/stealing to make my starting funds.

RC > RC > RC > GREED > WING

GX is still faster.

If you plan to play as just a stalker for a long time then go for it. If you want to farm instances, etc. Then go with GX.

Rogue or SC? If you want to hunt with rogues so you can earn zeny then you shouldn't. You will be limited because rogues are just a 2-2 class and has max level of 99. SC on the otherhand is not the best for farming even though they have skill for money-making it is not ideal if you are human.

As everyone suggests you should pick GX. Easy, cheap, OP and very efficient in everything.

What about Arrow Storm SC? Are they even viable for farming? Compared to Ranger and GX?

Sad to say, SCs, even AS builds are not even close to those 2.
