Cannon Spear breakdown:

Neutral Egg: 140k to 170k = 21% increase

​Fire Egg: 187k to 230k = 23% increase

​Seems if you're wearing more % increase, the better the Imperial Ring behaves.

When I'm just wearing Imperial Spear and Imperial Ring, I get the same result from dukezip so i didn't bother posting them.

based on my screenshot, you can see I got 21-23% increase in Cannon Spear damage. That's still below the supposed 14/2 * 7% = 49%

​@dukezip, What I meant was I was getting the same 8% increase in VP damage as you did when I was naked so I didn't bother posting it.

21-23% overall boost seems right. You are forgetting that you get cannon spear boost from casket of protection and imperial spear, which adds to the same skill. It goes from +161% to +210% which is your 20% ish boost.

Cannon spear base dmg: 100%
+14 imp spear: extra 41%
+12 casket: extra 120%
Total: 261%

Imperial ring: extra 49%
Total: 310%

With or without imperial ring is 19% damage increase (310%/260%).

there’s no diminishing return between fawea and imperial ring. Diminishing return refers to stacking too much of the same thing so the additional impact of another 40% is actually just 20% as you’ve experienced yourself with casket, spear and then ring.

FAW adds range % so it compliments this perfectly. I would suggest testing VP with a plus zero spear that isn’t imperial spear.

Joli is right, cannon spear works as it should. We get huge diminishing returns from the old casket (+120% at +12).

 

Vanishing point isn't working with the upgrade level it seems. only giving the first 7% boost.

is this worth getting even though its bugged? or does the dmg increase not seem worth its current price? I still have to invest in a better imp spear and bio 5 helm>.< soo im looking at options based on efficiency. dimenishing returns sounds like an issue i cant possibly see being looked at on this server(no offense just basing off previous bug problems in game still)

If you use Cannon Spear a lot, it's already really nice. I tend to use CS a lot more than OB. 

 

If you want to grab the Imp Ring, the price is probably as low as it's gonna get right now. Boxter just updated so there's more of 'em vending than last week. 

 

Diminishing returns is something to keep in mind, but there's only 3 items that give a strict CS +% bonus. Focus other gear on a mix of ranged %+ and atk %+ and you'll be fine.

Bugged or not, this is currently one of the best thing for RG. For me, CS > OB since Str GH boots came out. Unless you have String/Kiels, its hard for OB to outshine CS.

 

 

If you only use VP/CS now, you no longer need Megs. Imperial ring is 98.69% a perfect substitution.

TLDR:

​Cannon Spear = 49% increase if Imperial Spear is +14.

                        = 22+% increase when worn with +12 Old Casket

Vanishing Point = 5-8% increase BUGGED
