So if I fat-finger a key for the password one time I have to wait 5 minutes before I can log into game. Can you please change this to allow up to 3 retries before waiting 5 minutes (like most standard tech places)?

3 chances please.......5 min lockout after 1 failure is frustrating. Terrible user experience. Why is there only 1 chance?

A work around would be to use KeePass, to store and generate passwords with complexity patterns, it offers clipboard option with security features and others. It can be used to copy/paste the password to the client without having the fear of typing it wrong. It might not be the perfect product for everyone so please check it out and read about it. I'd recommend it for personal use only.

A work around would be to use KeePass, to store and generate passwords with complexity patterns, it offers clipboard option with security features and others. It can be used to copy/paste the password to the client without having the fear of typing it wrong. It might not be the perfect product for everyone so please check it out and read about it. I'd recommend it for personal use only.

 

I do use KeePass and still sometimes get mixed up between accounts and paste the wrong password.

 

Almost every other game, website or service has 3 tries and locked out. We shouldn't be talking about workarounds and instead fix the problem.

Could check with the staff if there is a chance to relax the restriction, but I have a feeling this is intended, as annoying as it is.

Its not like its working for the bot situation anyways (Assuming its for bots?).

Theres alot of questions at this state, and Camp or magus needs to take some time off to answer us. Make it happend Cinnamon? 1 Hour per week or w/e where they answer Q's.

^ Exactly.

You guys @WP realize bots dont type in their passwords manually each time right? You write it down once in a .txt file and then they will use that one every time without errors. So the only outcome is an annoyance for us real players.

As far as I know, there was/is(?) a critical issue with the login in which it allowed users to log on other users' IDs, unintentionally and randomly.  Supposedly this "annoying" login feature is there to stop it from happening, there could be more into it that I am unaware of however. We can get some answers, I hope so next week.

Lol, you're joking right? Sure, keypass is convenient, and accurate..But I shouldn't have to download 3rd party software to improve my experience with Ragnarok...

That's a terrible way to handle the bug. Find the code that causes the bug, fix the code. This is a ****ing joke...

You are absolutely correct, no one is forced to use a third party application to achieve a better gaming experience, but we could argue it is the  case with the use of proxy/VPN and iRO. 

 

Being said, unfortunately I am not well informed on the bug detail, however having to wait around 5 minutes for a single mistake is penalizing.

Hopefully we get a follow up soon enough.

Sorry for the delayed follow up on this post (been busy). Thank you for the responses guys. I don't think it would be hard to implement a "retry x3" and lockout 5 minutes (if 3rd try is still incorrect) setting. This would still be enough to stop brute force account hacks, as well as allowing a better user experience. As for the keypass suggestion, I feel uncomfortable with keeping passwords on my PC. I just don't trust the cyber security in applications these days.

 

When bringing it up, please be sure to suggest why the 3 retries would still be secure enough. Thanks for responding and attending to this
