Hi, i would like to know if the bot situation on the server is still being looked up. Last patch, we got 1,4 k players, no bots ( for a small time ). When the bots came back, the server went back to the usual 4k players. Thats 2,6 k bots. More bots than players.

Places like Toy Factory 2 are SWARMED WITH BOTS. Dozens of male assassins bots with the same white hairstyle, dozens of female monks that ks all the time. There is no more player groups in Toy Factory, the place is left for dead. 2 ~ 3 months back, lots of partys in there.

In comodo anolian map, there are BOTS IN GUILDS. Multiple battle priest bots with pink hat walking side by side, in the same guild.

I mean ... some time ago i felt that the GM's were actually fightning bots, banning them all the time. Some maps would get cleared and stay cleared for a lot of time. Now, all the maps i go, with multiple different chars, are flooded with obvious bot.

Everytime i want to spend more money with this game i look at the bot situation and give up. Can i get some kind of info if the ''24/7 bot hunting team'' is still active ??

Thanks, don't let this server die. 2 and half months ago this server was really fun and i was having a great time with my friends. Can't have that anymore if almost every important place (Anolians, alarms, raydrics, bathorys, Toy factory) are taken over by bots.

I agree it's an issue. Here's a thread where you can report maps you see swarmed with bots in case you didn't know of it:

https://forums.warpp...-report-thread/

Unfortunately TF2 seems to always be bot hell.

Yup, it's quite the problem. What upsets me more is a lot of them are set to KS/Loot targets as well.

Have also seen far too many bots that hit level 99 and regardless of reporting, they seem to be around without ban. Just browsing around other sites, you can see exactly how they are setup and players using bots to their advantage.

Sadly it seems as if nothing is being done, though I know GM's are making every effort with the available labor resources to manual remove these botters. Though if this game wants a future, there really needs to be a permanent solution to prevent this.

Hum, very comprehensive, but, for example, Toy Factory 2 is dead cause of bots diminished.

At least, I think is that.

WP's way of dealing with the bots is as below.

"Every week we will be updating packets to manage the bots. However, this only works for 1 day. After that, our apologies, you have to deal with the bots for another week. God bless you and thank you for supporting RE:Start"

And for those who actually botted to 99 and never got caught and decided to stop botting, you're going to have to live with them knowing that WP has no means of getting them ban since they no longer bot.

People were not around when we had 2-3k real players and 5-6k bots. This is nothing.  :p_omg:

Report the bots.   Take screenshots and such.   I sent in a ticket this morning and quickly got a response.  Hit the air raid thread to report them as well.

Regarding TF2 being dead - that's because porcellios exist XD

Agreed on the bots being terrible and the current solution being... Barely a solution at all.

It may not be as bad as it used to be but I wouldn't say it's nothing. It's still about as enormous a bot problem as a server can have. CT bots perma-camp Elder and we can't enter UG unless we buy the key from a bot shop. Same situation with Dragon Fly and Clip. Monsters like Elder Willow, Myst Case and the training grounds are so heavily botted that real players have trouble competing for kills. The impression it gives to new players is immediate and overwhelming as they struggle to break out of the early and mid game. It's hard to imagine a worse situation for player retention. When you do manage to get some kills you better pick up your loot immediately because these bots don't hesitate to steal your loot or camp beside it until the loot timer runs down. I think bots in the past were configured not to KS or steal loot because then players report them with less frequency. The fact that these bots do those things tells me that bans are so infrequent or ineffective that KSing and stealing loot results in a better bottom line for the owner rather than a worse one.

We are still waiting on kRO to supply a better bot solution, but I admit even I'm disappointed it's taken this long. The GMs are doing the best they can, but they are a bit outnumbered.

I'm really hoping they get the ball rolling soon, as we've been waiting for a solution for a very long while from them. I can't see why kRO wouldn't want to give this server some attention. They do after all, make money from us with licensing and what not.

If some do, they have no way of knowing when GMs will sweep over the map. Them logging out still temporarily gets rid of them.

I recommend the airstrike thread for heavy botfarmed maps. If you find a specific bot that is clearly player-owned, it's probably better to take screenshots/record with ingame video and submit that privately as a ticket.

I think this is the type of response people want to see. Me personally what annoys me about the bot situation is how powerless I'm about it and I don't know what the admins are doing about the situation because they choose not to say much other than they're manually banning bots which we all know it's fairly useless. What I'm saying is that your response puts me at ease because at least I know something is going on, there's a plan in the works and I think people would welcome if you'd disclose all of these sort of info to the rest of the community more openly so that everyone is aware of the situation.

I completely agree with HazeLoki here, this reply gives us some hope that the situation is being handled.

This type of response is the best since it informs your customer-base that measures are being taken by iRO, rather than re-directing people into the Bot Reporting thread or usual responses tend to represent a lack of solution for the current problem at hand. Now that you inform us that iRO is waiting on a response from kRO that implies that it is not iRO's fault given that they have requested better anti-botting measures from kRO.

Bots are currently demoralizing the player-base in all honesty, most of us who have spent time on the server quickly realized that our of our 3k players 1.6k are bots 600 are vendors and we are left at around 800. As a matter of fact, the more "alive" the server is, the more bots it attracts. So we have yet to make a distinction whether the decrease in bot was caused by our anti-botting measures or by a decrease in popularity.

I hope that iRO keeps us informed about the anti-botting measures even if its just reporting that kRO has not replied. Your customer-base needs to feel like the issue is being dealt with, more than often, you have people complaining that its been 15 years and there are still bots over the forums. Well the elephant in the room is that some private servers have better bot control than iRO and this is quite depressing to be honest given that there are salaries given to the specific task of bot hunting whereas its mostly volunteer operated on private servers.

You have to fix this, once this is fixed we can start fixing our population segregation problems. iRO needs to be THE (For those that can access it of course) server to go to, updated, fun and where the GMs are actively involved into the server.

We used to have Town Invasions...
