The drop rates for mvp cards are fine i just feel with the inflation and over power OCP items make them feel cheaper.

If you are still camping mvp in ragnarok you are wasting your time because of its ridiculous low rate.

Assuming 1:3000 drop rate with vip and he gum and you spend on average 5 min of wait time for mvp spawn (since it is 0-10 min) then it would take 15,000 minutes (250 hours) to get an mvp card which is worth $1000.

So you are getting paid $4 per hour ($1000/250 hours) for camping which really is not worth it.

Just play for fun and kill some mvp here and there...

I don't get why people compare the money you make by playing the game versus money you get paid by working in your current job.

If i were looking to make more money, i would be looking for a second job to supplement my income, instead of playing this old game. wtf

The inflation is not okay by any means. GTB for example has risen from 40b to 60b right after OCP XVI. People who spent monies opening boxes suddenly have lots of Zeny after selling their Abyss Dresses.

It's more of a reason to bring my chars to ET. There's really nothing that's rewarding in game anymore apart from bio5 farming, and 0.02% drops from mobs.

Gum only statistically improves your odds, of the three MVP cards I have found since playing the game, two of them I didn't use gum, one I did.

All the 7 mvp drops I had were on Gum + vip. Shame that vip didnt help (unless drops event of 50% or more was present)

100% drop increase should be base line for vip. It's not the biggest advantage in the world but it sure makes vip users feel good about the ever slightly higher chance of getting cards.

Comparison is made because camping mvp 10 times per day is boring repetitive and really just becomes your second job sucking away your life and soul

Point is you might as well work a second job part time make real life money (>> $4/hr) and then buy with cash rather than camp that mvp card. It just makes more sense to save your sanity.

Yauhoilun has a point, there’s something called time efficiency. Not everyone can play the game like a teen who spends 8-12 hrs farming gears/cards in game. There are ppls who can only play 1-2 hrs a day, or 4-5 hrs a week. Some ppls love camping for MvPs, but it’s not a luxury that someone like Yaihoilun can afford. From WP’s point of view, both types of players are important and necessary to have for the game to flourish, though it’s tricky to find the balance between the two types of player base.

Are people not Comping anymore? Sweet, glad I returned to this new era of iRO  :p_laugh:  More for me!

In a more serious note, yeah, comping is part dedication, part competition and part liking it. There's something about waiting for the MVP to spawn and challenging other to bring it down first is fun for me. And when I comp alone, it's refreshing to think about the MVPs and their free time when they are not slaughtered to oblivion. It's that lore and fantasy part that lured me into playing RO seriously. True, in my full year of comping I only got 1 MVP card by myself, but when it arrived, it was soooo great. Made it worth for me.

If you're a farmer, yeah, it's not worth it. But when done for the love of it, it's super fun.

I am not saying not to hunt MVP every now and then for fun. But if you are camping mvp so regularly that it becomes more like a "job" then why not consider using that time to work a second job to make actual money and then use that cash to buy the mvp card?

As long as your second job in real life offers a salary of more than $4 per hour then it should make financial sense. You also get to keep whatever hourly salary beyond that $4 mark to spend on other things outside of RO. It would eliminate the frustration of RNG in RO. It would benefit other people in your society.

So camping MVP really is not worthwhile anymore.

I thought RMT is illegal. And going with the "legit" RMT route is really toxic to the inflation rate as well.

As for how the nature of MMORPGs go, if there are less incentives to farm, and less drops, be prepared to see an even more crazy rate of inflation. Hello 100b GTB.

Can alway sells enough wpe legally to get the zeny to buy those card.

I think its only worth camping those MVP that people don't sell often.

ye outside of server drop boost that is 50%+ vip is worthless if you aren't leveling. I wish they would incentivize vip somehow, like adjusting how decimal is treated in card rate drops so 50% count or make vip 100% drop boost at all times. Just something !   :p_ang:
