I don't have a Drake Card. How bad is Crit DD GX without it?

 

I have +12 FQL and +15 Crimson Dagger. Both currently uncarded.

 

I believe size modifier only affects weapon attack. In that case does Crimson Dagger edge out on FQL with no drake card? What about +13 FQL (might upgrade my +12 because current refine event)?

 

Also, I believe AK card as a % modifier increases weapon attack. Because of this is Aunoe or some other card better than AK for the +15 Crimson Dagger?

 

If it helps, I'm strictly PvM, this character is to kill bosses and solo instances. My setup/planned setup is:

 

Base Stats

STR 90

AGI 120

VIT 90

INT 2

DEX 35

LUK 120

 

Gears

Top: +13 Isabella [Angra Mantis]/+13 Drooping Eddga

Mid: Sunnies

Bottom: Mob Scarf

Body: Sapha Cloth (3 of Sharp/CRIT+) [Elemental Armor Card]

Weapon: +12 (+13?) FQL/+15 Crimson Dagger [Cards to be determined]

Offhand: +12 Ice Pick Sharp4 Sharp4 [Looking for at least 1 sharp5 later]

Garment: +9 HBP/+9 FAW w/ ASPD enchants

Boots: +6 Temporal LUK Boots, ASPD enchants, Speed of Light (Looking to upgrade to +12 LUK boots with Lucky Day)

Accessory 1: Celine Brooch [To add Gold Scarab later]

Accessory 2: Evil Spirit Glove [To add Gold Scarab later]

 

It's easier for me to get max APSD with Eddga using Celine/Evil combo instead of Bako tats, but dazzler is annoying as hell as it stops me from backsliding away from dangerous attacks like Earthquake. (I've seen people use TG card along with their Drakes in their FQLs; don't they also experience this annoyance with MBs 2s delay?). With my setup, how much difference in DPS is Celine/Evil Glove compared to Bako tats? Assuming in two cases:

 

1: Max ASPD regardless, so Eddga with each accessory setup and;

 

2: Having to swtich to my Isabella instead of Eddga if I use Bako Tats?

 

I acknowledge that the best setup is different for each situation but given that I only have 1 garment to card and the purpose is for soloing instances, what is the best garment card in this case? I'm thinking Deviling with element reduction items and element armor to make up for the downside, reasoning is dead character = no DPS. Any more informed opinions?

 

Finally, is 120 STR and 90 AGI but with Isabella instead of Drooping Eddga, better or worse?

Now you can gain a lot of eATK, for example 150 eATK by using Shield Spell using Royal Guard Shield and swapping to Anemos shield or Gaia shield,

and number of card slot makes a lot of difference.

For low def mobs, maybe you can use two Valkyrie Knives, and for high def, you can use a Ice Pick on your main hand and a Valkyrie Knife on off hand.

Since eATK, which is your main source of ATK, is not effected by size, you never need Drake on GX.

Or, +15 Crimson Dagger on main hand for low def.

Thanks for the advice, are you saying Valk knives are better than both FQL and +15 Crimson? If eATK is the focus, then is quad Aunoe better than quad AK for the valk knife?

Thanks, I thought % modifiers like AK did not affect eATK, aren't the Valk Knife and Crimson Dagger setups relying more on eATK because they have lower wATK which is further lowered by size modifier?

Abusive robe luk enchant is better. although +9FDA can do the job too. also cheaper than +11~13 Abusive robe Luk 5-6

i'm assuming you're pertaining to the drake effect vicious dagger. if it has that effect, there's no need to worry about the opponent's size. as for the off hand, ice pick for high def MVPs such as valkyrie randgris etc. quad lib for low def mvps

With all Def bypass gears I don’t see a use to Ice Pick as offhand but I might be wrong

yes since what you're after is the penalty size reduction. also vicious weapons are lvl 4 weapons so at +15 it gives flat 105 weapon atk + upgrade variance. also gives 225 eATK. higher weapon atk should always be in main hand

 

not sure if there are but ice pick gives 1atk for every 1 hard def of the enemy. you can experiment on this but i think to surpass the damage of +12 2AK FQL, the def should be higher than 300. not sure tho. try using some calcs or test it in sakray.

Ice Pick is like MoT, Occult Impaction, aka floor(Target HardDEF / 2) is added to your Pseudo EATK.
