The problem is that a guild that with full equipped characters doesn't care about stars and the castle. 

 

They like emporia war, but they are not interested in the stars, so they looking for a way to go emporia war every week. When they didnt took the stars, their guild got disbanded. So they looking for another way to participate every week.

 

There is no reason to WIN Emporia so they start to mercenaries every week. In my opinio that is abuse of the system, but the GM's have to decide. Anyways till now nothing happens. Hope for a clear and fast answer.

Are you assuming or are you believing everything coming out of your mouth is facts? I did not know that they disbanded because of that. Are you from that guild to be representing their agenda?

It applies to every single guild that if you don't take the star on purpose to participate the next week as well just for the PvP aspect I would personally consider that abuse. I understand that you're getting a bit heated from the way the comment was phrased and that it was pointing at a certain guild but if we think of it as a more overall statement it's mostly true from my experience at least and I think a few others do have the same opinion about the sort of "abuse" that is being discussed about here.

I'm not getting heated based on that comment I'm just starting to get heated, because of all these strawman, slippery slope, false cause, ad hominems, tu quoque, and bandwagons being spewed to prove a point. Logical fallacies everywhere, and I'm just baffled on how a majority of users are being completely biased and not being on topic. This is about mercenary system branched from the loyalty/betrayal system. Rarely do you need to even talk about what guilds do or there agenda. Those are just more bandwagon fallacies.

 

A mercenary is  "a professional soldier hired to serve in a foreign army."  and that's what it currently doesn't represent. Unless those smaller guilds are bribing other players with some gold or asking for help and they attend. Then it's perfectly legal. Opening mercenaries to a certain group of players is an option hence the ui for it. Abuse is not such a thing when bound to the definition of a mercenary.

 

Players here wise enough to not attack other guilds/players would say the mercenary system is flawed and explain why, not include bs fallacies to make other guilds look bad for using a system.

 

The certain group of players that are being bashed on for carrying a smaller guild, has been playing since the release of this game and have done whatever they do for years. Why is it only now that they are apparently "abusing" a system that have been there for a long time? Did other guilds manage to win or sustain so it was actually balanced? Are newer guilds not experienced enough or lucky enough to win on rng missions? Big guilds with a bunch of classes that have potentially good missions are blocked off and only 4-8 players attend for some odd reason when missions>kills. Certain classes have better missions than others so those could be a viable strategy.

I think that the reason it's being talked about now and not before is because there are more people participating in these things and the game has been out for a long time now with more opinions about changes are coming into the light. I personally think that further discussion about mercenaries are not needed because the Dragon Saga team has already taken it into consideration and is thinking of a way to solve an issue that many players seem to have about the system right now. I think that we should wait and give feedback or opinions about the suggestions or the fixes from the team instead of making them up ourselves.

I don't wanna talk further about mercenaries on this topic because there's nothing more to be said than fueling the conversation and repeating stuff over and over again with slightly different words or directions of where it's being pointed towards. Of course talking about these things are still allowed but we have already gotten a response and a warning that the topic should no longer be about mercenaries and instead of the other things that I have mentioned before the post storm today.

Feel free to tell me if I'm wrong but the way we are talking about it back and forth like this is not gonna contribute to anything regarding what people want to get changed and it's just making the post more likely to get locked due to multiple reasons.

Please refrain from accusing another player or guild of wrong-doing. If you feel someone is cheating or exploiting, you need to make a ticket and attach any proof you have.

Ohh the feeling of waking up to some sweet drama on a beautiful Sunday morning!

 

Seems like your one of those players that play for 10 minutes a day and think you deserve to win with a pathetic amount of effort.

Man that's a lot of playtime...

I partially agree with this. Basically everything that people said here last night has already been said before. However if people have some original and clever solutions then those'd be welcome I'm sure. Particularly the underlying problem which is that winning emporia is a negative thing to some hasn't really had any improvement suggestions to speak of.
