Job changed to monk at Acolyte job level 50 and am now job level 5, tried allocating my skill points. The points disappear but I can't see what level they are nor will I be able to put active skills on my hotbar...everything is greyed out. Any fix for this? I think my points are just being eaten and I'm not getting any benefit.

Try the following:
1.- Relogging
2.- Count how many skill points you have spent on your "Acolyte" skill tree. If you didn't properly level up the Acolyte skills, your Monk skill points will be consumed into unlocking the prerequisites (Demon Bane and Divine Protection level 10)
