Hello there Roserians,
After all the bad quality screen shots I have seen lately posted around the forum, I realized that not many are aware of the proper video settings and the tool we have to achieve far greater and clear ROSE graphics. The reason why most people have bad ROSE graphics is because the default ROSE graphic settings are poorly configured.
For that reason I made this small guide with all the settings you need to change to achieve the best possible quality which in case of ROSE will have irrelevant impact on your systems performance (unless if you have ancient hardware ex. pentium4) since ROSE needs low hardware resources.
We are going to change the settings in two files located inside ROSE folder:
- sevenhearts.ini
We right click and open it with notepad and we make sure that these options are set accordingly:
DEPTH=32
PERFORMANCE=4
Camera=2
- rre.ini
Remember you need to run the game by double clicking on RRE once before the file rre.ini is created so that we can open it with notepad.
Once we open rre.ini with notepad we locate the following category and we set the following settings:
[Graphics]
Bloom = 0 [ You may enable this to 1 and the use /set bloom x (where x can be 1-10) command in game to test what you like ]
UseAnisotropicFiltering = 1
UseAntiAlias = 1
UseBloom = 0 [ Change to value 1 if you plan to use the bloom and the command described above ]
UseCustomMipmapLevel = 1
UseDoubleShadowmapBlur = 1
UseTerrainLOD = 1
The outcome of these changes can be viewed at the following pictures. You can use these to compare them with your graphics !
Remember to keep your drivers updated !!!
