if you made this into a poll, you'd prolly get results faster...

but... what do you mean best at? each class can be the best at a certain thing, I really don't think you can have a ultimate best class...

I voted monk, because it can heal itself, kill by itself, plus it can essentially have infinite SP. It's the only class that can do that effectively, imo. >;D

It can't AFK as cool as my 99 Novice though.

There is no 'best class' to me. They all have their ups and downs. Champs and Bios are great for MVPing, but bloody expensive to be able to do so. Paladins and Knights are great for tanking those MVPs. Wizards are good for mobbing. Etc. etc. etc.

HP/Priests anyone says otherwise is dumb!

PVM/PVP/WOE/MVP all aspects of the game HP/Priest is an essential part.

Yep, anyone with a different opinion is dumb. ...

Look, I can play my Linker just fine without a Priest/HP, I can do the same with so many other characters and still get them to 99 easily. Essential? Gear is essential, support is not. When I choose HP (Priest) is the best class for myself, it means it's the most fun to play that class, it's fun to support a party, but if someone else considers another class or even a Super Novice being best (most fun/useful/satisfying/whatever it means) for him/her, then so be it.

My point is this....a HP/Priest makes ALL aspects of RO that much easier(if they are good), try MVPing without SW/Assu/Buffs etc and its possible but nearly as effective. Where as just about any other class you can skip out on. Granted you can now just about BUY a HP via Kafra shop doesnt change the fact that all aspects of RO depend on a priest.

I'm taking best to mean most fun to play. The class most fun to play IMO is Mastersmith (not Blacksmith, though I voted for that.) A lot of players will agree with me if they've had a chance to run one of these babies solo through Thor.

You should put the highest evolution of a particular class in the poll (trans for current iRO, 3-1/2 if this were in renewal).

Also, do you want people to vote for which class is best in terms of gameplay, or which they like best?

HP is easily the best class in the game in my opinion, but I hate it. Mastersmith is my favorite class in the game, but is one of the worst trans classes.

No one refers to the job class branches by the highest evolution.

I started this thread because newbies are always wondering what's the best class without taking into consideration that job classes are subjective. I'm hoping this thread would enlighten future newbies in that respect. Plus, it's interesting to see if anyone has job class pride.

My vit/dex Double Strafe full range Bow Rogue was great for pvp purposes in terms of vs the non-trans. Hell, it could even kill certain trans builds. Compared to the other classes, it wasn't hard to beat any of them solo. It "could" mvp certain mvps if done right. Hit and run is the tactic behind this build. <3 I'd have to agree with everyone else though, every class has its perks.

My opinion has always been that Knights are great at a lot of things: they can tank, they can damage deal, they can mob, and they can even do some range, but they master nothing and a class beats them at every aspect. They're out tanked by Crusaders, out damaged by Assassins, out mobbed by Wizards, and out ranged by Hunters. Knights do have the highest HP in the game, however, but also the lowest SP I think. This is from a non-WoE/PvP perspective.

I always have to know what the new player wants to do. Do they want to keep friends alive, lead boss fights, or deal damage? Do they like to fight up close or from a distance? Do they PVP? Those are just a few questions that I try to ask to help their choice, and I also throw in a few balancing comments to make sure they are happiest with their choice.

I've just started with my swordsman, and so far mvp is easy, even if I'm solo. Thats what new players are mostly going to do, right?
