A crash in the physxcore.dll is usally a sign that during the patch one or more files got corrupted. Try to download the pre-patched version which you can find here:

"EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION" sounds a little like a problem in accessing the given file to me (mostly because of "access" and "violation", though I was told that computer engineering and mysticism were very much alike when it comes to names).

Seeing how my antivirus software often blocks every possible interaction with this or that DLL file for absurd reasons, perchance the solution could be to tell your antivirus that this repertory is safe? Take full ownership of the repertory? Disable the "Read Only" property that so often makes me wonder why on earth a text document that is to be handed to a professor next week should not be edited?

If you tried these three or they have no effect whatsoever, my apologies! I may not be able to help.
