I made a similar post on the maintenance's thread, but i don't think many ppl saw it, so i'm making its own thread for people to discuss and test it out.

So... from my understanding Spotlight is supposed to double monster spawns, together with exp and drops (or somewhat increase).

There was an improvement in the exp per kill, that's why i was expecting for more kills/minute as well. But i don't feel like there was an improvement on how fast i could finish the bounty boards. And here is why:

I play GX, and I have been able to kill an average of 38 Big Bells per EDP (90 seconds), and it usually takes me 4 EDPs to finish a bounty board. When i'm lucky with mobs, i can kill up to 45 or 50 Big Bells within an EDP, and when i'm unlucky i usually kill at least 25~27. And it has been like that for a long time.

And it actually is slower than usual now. When there are few people on the map, i finish the 150 kills with around 20~60 seconds spare on my 4th EDP. But now that there are a lot more people than usual on the map, i barely finish it within 4 EDPs ( there were 2 rounds i only did around 147 kills, and finished it without EDP). I often teleport to either empty parts of the map, or places with only 1 or 2 Big Bells, or somewhere someone just killed a mob, or somewhere with someone killing something. And i barely ever find an actual good mob.

I was expecting a double spawn to make it possible for me to average 50 kills per EDP, but i still am killing around 38 Big Bells per EDP. And there even were some EDPs that i could only kill 30 or less Big Bells. And i still have to fwing a lot of times to find mobs.

This is why i believe it might not yet have double spawn. And i would like you to please take a look and, if possible, give me a confirmation whether it is double spawn or not (and if it is supposed to be like this).

It would be nice if some of the GMs could take a look into it, do something about it if necessary, and tell us.

Thanks in advance!

During the implementation of NCT, people complained that there wasn't enough mob spawning for end game leveling. CMs increased Big Bell numbers to more than double even during non-spotlight times. Never seen them increase the spawns even further during NCT spotlight.

like bio4, NCT has permanently increased spawns, and spotlights will affect the exp.

But it’s not double the spawn like bio4, it’s only 50% more. NCT spawn rate still sucks.

No it is actually double, it's just a big map so.

bio4 walkable cells arent that much despite the map being so large. Add to that the 7 types of monsters there with doubled spawn. That makes the clusterf. of what bio4 currently is.

I know the NCT rates are already technically doubled, which is why they don't increase it for spotlights. But honestly, the 'doubled' spawn rate really feels like what the map density should have always been. Doubling it again further might be a bit much, but 25-50% wouldn't be unreasonable. Doesn't really feel like anything special. From my understanding the spotlight doesn't affect the bounty board experience so the benefit really isn't anything to get too excited about. Its better than nothing I suppose. But I would hope that "better than nothing" isn't really the standard we accept.

What amazes me is that these CMs/GMs didn’t bother to say anything if they doubled the spawn or not. But if you talk about $ or OCP bugs, w/in seconds there’s a reply.

Number of spawned mobs is already increased.

When hunting make sure to visit the corners/rooms, occasionally huge mobs are found trapped in there. Do keep in mind though, there is a limit of how much a map can hold of spawned mobs, too many may result in unstable zone performance.

^ i believe we were all asking for an opportunity for warp portal to review possibility to further increase the spawned rate of NCT

hoping to get the best value out of the battle manual.

i just did a trial run on my sura, manage to do 3* 150/150 and 60/150 before the manual expire.

explored almost every corner, had speed potion effect on me through the whole duration (guyak pudding)

1 shot all bigbell with final combo, i had the luxury of the whole map to myself. (there's nobody in thor)

still. result from the spotlight is. not as i expect it to be.

I was able to consistently complete 8 counts and sometimes 9 in 30 minutes (ignoring the saved up counts) during the very first spotlight after the introduction of NCT BB, now I'm only able to do 7.

While there is a permanent spawn increase, I don't feel the current spotlight is increasing mob count to what it was during that first spotlight.

Or my memory is faulty.

I will add a note to get the numbers of Bell guy checked just in case.

bearl, more activity in the map yields better spawn rate.

4 ~ 5 is the average, more than that means a combination of luck and raw damage output. Zayaan has access to stuff that makes the raw damage output an easy thing :U

Need more OP gears or more efficient class and better RNG! lol

After all, its all about how crowded the area is. More people = less mobs. Sharing is caring though  :heh:

It wouldn't hurt to increase a bit... Map if full of people, I spend more time winging off other people's mobs than actually killing.
