I'm unsure how i want to write this thread. It's been all building up inside me(like a raging kid, aye?) to the point where i just want to say it out loud and be done with it, for the good, or for the bad. Despite my initial efforts to make this as neutral as possible, there could be people who just want to be themselves and i dont mind at all. After all, we're all to be blamed. And i mean you.
I am a Requiem player that played for more than i could bargain for. I had friends, i had enemies. Who doesn't right ? We're all different in a way we could be friends or foes. Or double faced friends and foes. You get the point. I've been here since there were three servers - Lintra, Hammerine and Valdes. I'm proud for what i've witnessed the rise and the fall of a great game, probably the greatest among the hundreds and thousands of other names on the MMO list.
Just like every human being on this planet we all strive to survive. Be the greatest, or the worst. To be violent and fierce, or be wise and just, even at our demise or victory - we're all the same. We did share the same goal how to shape this game in a way, after all these years, i do feel disgusted how things turned out to be.
Just like most of you, i do felt like playing Requiem back in the day was a privillege. Staying up late at night, being late for classes, ignoring my friends on social media and such, just for the chance of advancing my experience bar 5% further or getting my Eliminator's set to +8 because it mattered. It mattered for me, for my friends, for my guild, for everyone across the three servers whether we stood up against challenges in both PvP or PvE wise. That was hardcore.
Hardcore in Requiem now? Lol.
Everything is a boring chore. Every single activity in Requiem is boring, unrewarding, unsatisfiying, unhuman. All this darkness that has gripped our greedy hearts and twisted minds, has been uploaded like a virus, on the very surface we all stand.
What are you all hoping to gain out of everything ? Literally just one word for it - power. And nothing else. Power that comes as control. Power that comes as materliasm. Power that comes as a sin.
Let me give you a taste how it all feels like because you are all too ignorant to say it out loud.
"Make sure to log your twitch accounts and every single one of them will have a different purpose whats going to be said on the stream. One will beg for froge veny, other will beg for events, a third will speak on its own, trying to start an argument with others."
This is the first power of control.
"I tank Voxyon for 4 minutes with the infinity amounts of hp10% potions my bot farmed.( Sorry, macro'ed since botting is bannable offense, while macro is not). I don't need a party anymore. I can solo everything. Free mall ? Let me buy 400 raid resets but still complain this game is boring."
Second power of materialism.
"Oh he killed me 1v1 but im still gonna call him a hacker and continue to abuse our anti-cheat system since no one can ban me. I am a continues cash hoe and im immune to bans since Requiem feeds on my deep wallet."
This is the worst I've seen in my life. Literally screaming right back at you how miserable it has to make you feel and force it down your throat to invest more of your time and money, fight a war that's been already lost. Thanks to you reader.
Have you seen whats going on around you lately ? The entire forum is drowning on locked threads, witty and ironic comments. Endless waves of misunderstood people who shaped the way this game is. That's right.
The problem is you. Me. Whoever comes after me or it's been here far too long.
New server ? Best decision ever. Undoubtedly, the producers and the mass of people, working behind our interests, is doing their best to feed it's feeding hand. Our job is to bite on its fingers and continue devoting our lives to the cause this game could be great again.
Let's make Requiem great again!
