Hi everybody! I stopped playing ragnarok online around 2007, when the official ragnarok hispano servers when down in glorious flames. I recently found out about renewal and got interested in playing this game again. I have a few questions though.
Whats the deal with the experience tables? It's easier to level a character now? Or it just means exp is now harder to get?
I hear something about penalties for characters killing mobs with highers or lowers level than the character. Is it true? How does that work?
what's the most important change to gameplay? I want to play as a typical MvP wizard (99int/99dex) to rebirth fast, any changes I shoudl be aware?

Hello and welcome back.
There are a lot of changes but I think the most important one was the change to exp and how the level difference between you and the monster affects it.
Basically to maximize the amount of exp gained from a monster you need to kill things that are within 15 levels of your base level. So for example at level 25 you would want to kill monsters that are between level 10 to level 40. This will maximize the amount of exp you gain. Naturally kiling the higher ones will give you more exp. As you get outside of the 15 level area there is a penalty placed on exp and drops gained from a monster. This change I feel was done to prevent pure leeching and cause people to change maps and explore the realm more.
As far as leveling goes, the lower levels are much faster now. It is very easy to get from level 1-99 non-trans and not much harder to get from 1-99 Trans, the real leveling challenge is introduced from level 99-150 as a 3rd class.

Oh, thaks for the awnsers, too bad the new level killing cap, that means not killing floras as a level 15.
I think I'll be playing in Yggdrasil, that's the new server right? Maybe I can find some of my old guildmates from ragnarok hispano here, I believe some came back to iRO when the server died.
