I have im using severe rainstorm on my alt maestro but i die in the process what am i missing here is there a skill i should be using to avoid taking dmg?

 

I have unbarring octave but it seems pretty unreliable

dont over mob use arrow shower bring some pot move during cast

Magnum Break also helps. Increases your damage, too!

Why can't you move? And are you using sufficient leeching gears?

You can move.
Stack neutral resistance
Stack hard defense
Stack leech gears

a garment carded with raydric/deviling will often be enough to soften the damage to where a little amount of leech can take care of it.
You'll naturally get DEF just by using upgraded gears for their effects.
Then just get damage and a bit of leech.

Bring anodyne if you overmobbed to move easier

 

or flattery robes endure if you dont have better armor alternatives for leech (EDA) or defense (Medical Scrubs)

 

or Amistr Bag Endure if you dont have better garment for damage (FAW / HBP)

 

or simply eddga carded boots if you're Richie Rich

I couldnt figure out what ppl meant about moving when i clearly couldn't...i figured out it was my cast time to use severe rainstorm is still too long so i would get hit too much before im capable of moving. if i can get the cast time faster I think I'll be in better shape

Using 2 sound amps will make you instacast it.

Cast time doesn't have anything to do with it. Just like other skills (with exceptions), you can't move while the skill is being cast. But once your skill activates, you should be able to move.

 If you're getting hitlocked by the mobs, try using Magnum Break to knock them back then you should be able to move away much easier.
