Hello,

I created a video which shows the skill Hypnotizer from Ninja being casted 10 times to show that it doesn't hit as often as it should. The Skill description says its 90% but in my test video it only hits 4 of 10 times which isn't even 50%. If you would test it 100 times it would be still less than 50 hits.

For comparison reasons I have also created a video which shows the skill Barbarian from Invoker being casted 10 times. That skill is on lv 10 and has 89% Hit Chance (~same as Hypnotizer) and you can see it hits 10/10.

So I think the skill of Ninja is a bit buggy and has not the % number implemented. Please take a look into it.  :)

Its sadly those 9x % skills are a sad mechanic of the game. As Barbarian might not hit even once out of 10 times hypnotizer can hit 100/100 times. Its all up to RNGesus

I myself got depressed over that skill and found myself throwing it away from my action bar was for the best after some time. The same is with violent blow having just 25% chance. The reliability is sadly not there.

Why? Its a part of the game and you still need a bit skill to hit them.. Yeah it is RNG but the chance for Hypnotizer is for sure far from 90%..

Even if this is off topic:

Violent Blow has 25% chance for EVERY Hit and on lv 10 it has Lv.5 stun so its okay in my opinion.

Im saying that RNG is merciless in this game it can be tested but RNG is RNG I am fully aware that it hits like nowhen. Its better if you try to learn a new opener because its realy too unreliable for that and will get you almost always in danger. Yeah it is fine as long as you get the stun :D if you dont u will walk in a very bad lock / blink and emblem of fire :D

Off topic : Some flashy opener like Shadow leap, Swift attack, turn around, dagger throw, devil dart, violent blow, mist vanish etz etz your daily combo. That one is cool and is working our pretty good if you get used to it. Or knock em down with a perfect strike opener since it gives super armor and then swift attack dagger throw etz etz

Edit u might not have known but swift attack attacks target on the ground at lvl 4 it doesnt say it so in the description tho.

I know RNG is RNG but nearly every Ninja who does PVP using the Skill Hypnotizer will see that this skills chance is far away from 90%.

And Sleep is not as op as Freeze since if u get any attack the sleep is over and the opponent can move. Even the cooldown is 20 seconds, freeze only has 6. I dont understand why u argue against this bug fix?

I just wish this skill to have the exactly hit chance. Balancing is another thing and comes after. And don't call this "sad mechanic of the game" because its a part of the game (same as Blizzard) and you have to live with it. Some skills are more usefull for single PVP and some for multi-PVP..

I am not arguing at all as a player who played almost all classes I am fully aware of what you mean but you will get shot down every time that RNG is RNG and that will end the topic with a nice quote : You had just bad luck.. And end of topic. ( Not like they might find something ofc but most likely this is the outcome assumption )

As on Sad mechanic of the game will be my personal statement / opinion so no need to get worked up on that. It is a sad mechanic because RNG is and will be always a bane of PvP but that is another topic lets not discuss it any further.

That is a good idea. Let's discuss chances any further.

We will look into this as soon as there is some free time. Just to check if there's anything wrong. Differently from drop/enchant success rates for skills there is a lot more involved than just RNG numbers. For example finding out which targets are reachable and such. Like it was for the grenades. There can be different reasons why a skill is not working than expected. Unlike drop/enchants rates where only RNG numbers decide the outcome a skill uses a lot of more decision making code parts which need to be checked. It's definitely worth to be checked.

The only thing that comes to my mind is that the hitbox shown ( the circle thingy ) is smaller then it actualy shows thats the only thing I can say.

Maybe it could be a false description too? Some skill don't even says how many % it will apply the effect in the description, like Hammer Crush says stun chance it's a little higher than the previous level, like what??? Same with Wire Action and Quagmire which din't give any % for the chances it will stun/slow the targets, it's just too vague. Then skill like Death snatch just says target will be stunned without saying anything about chances even tho it's not a guarantee stun every time which is totally false description.

I tested it a bit in PVE and there the rate feels much higher. Feels like its 90% there.
