So, I first want to cover a few presuppositions, just so you can follow my line of thinking here.

 

1: I have no expectations of PvP or Class being handled ever again. In fact, I'm quite confident when I say that the current meta we have now will be what we have until the game inevitably dies to some unforeseen event or simply just age.

 

2: Balance in PvP post Runes, is a huge problem. With the current DPS Meta being dominated by Katar Raiders and Mages [Most specifically hard CC spamming Mages], getting anything or having any type of chance to play a class that's not one of those two archetypes while maintaining a sense of fun, is next to impossible. Again, this is just my opinion.

 

3: Crashing has all but broken interest in large scale PvP. Even I myself have fallen prey to the idea that I'll take even a small scale 2v2 or 3v3 Arena if it just gives us something to do that's NOT Draconis Peaks. The biggest problem, is that Rewards are not distributed as you earn them, and with the looming inevitability that you will crash at some point in that match, you're effectively doing the game mode for no or very little reward. I also don't see them fixing this issue or changing how your rewards are distributed in PvP GA modes. 

 

Right so, with that out of the way, I can get to the crux of this post. 

 

I think the IP Cap should just be done away with. 

 

Will it enable leeching? 99.9% Sure it will

Will it enable people to battle themselves / family? Uh.. yeap.

 

Does any of that matter? Nope, not really.

 

Here's why. You have an entirely broken, imbalanced PvP system, that's supposed to be played for fun, and rewards earned along the way.

Instead what you have is an utterly infuriating experience, that forces players to either give up, or become extremely agitated and angry. And then guess what, they come here and yell. 

 

So, from my somewhat pessimistic outlook on ROSE Developmental future, coupled with my position on the current meta, I've slowly come to the conclusion that you've already ruined PvP permanently. You might as well just let people have fun with it while they have the chance to. 

 

That my opinion, but I'd be interested in hearing what people have to say. Obviously we can talk about how and why IP limits were put in and how it's going to be annoying to get into someones AFK mode or whatever, but that's part of the conversation.

IP cap and Clan passives, these two were put in place and were supposed to have players work together or play/do more in game.

 

IP cap- Its known to almost everyone and i don't know if Genesis is just doesnt know or chooses to ignore the fact that people are using and have been using VPNs to get around the IP cap. whats the point of having it if anyone who can get a VPN can just fight themselves and in most cases stack a group against other players who would queue solo to PVP games.

 

Clan passives- why do they still have a time duration when we know people have once again players have found a work around and have almost unlimited passives or can change clans at will with full passives overnight. The game's population is not as big as it was 10years ago and certainly not everyone gets along or thrives in large clans. I say do away with the time duration as there are duped CPs out there and are again just letting other players get the advantage.

 

Sorry Feuer i know your thread is about the IP cap but seems like the clan passives are also related if were talking about how things are already broken and its better to just get rid of the restriction and just have everything fair.

 

@Genesis the first step to solving the problems is to admit that there is a problem. I haven't seen you address anything of this sort on the forums. No 'political/showbiz response' please

Those rigged games are pretty annoying sometimes when u end up in a dead dp cause someone started one to get people out of queue. But tbh I dont mind those people anymore. PVP is so freaking broken. AA and Crystal Defender often dont even start on questday anymore, and if, then its active for maybe three rounds till queue dies cause of too many crashes.

 

PVP players get offered new stuff to work on, like the rune system a year ago, new stats new gems, and also nice events like the share event. But what for, what a lovely joke when there is nothing really offered to farm honor points and rune mats... atm the only real option for pvp players to gear their chars is in dp. And lately even dp queue is pretty dead.

 

The crashes exist for how long now? 2 years? So ye this is only my point of view, but imo u cant blame the people who rig games. To me they are people who still care about gearing their chars and since noone from the staff seems to care and try to fix anything people found a way to live with this to work on their chars and still play the game. Dont get me wrong I am not supporting this, but I also think you cant blame them for still trying to play this -_-ing broken and dead pvp zone.

 

Its the biggest joke that nothing got fixed in two years...(btw when does Mr.Premium come back home from buying cigarettes?)

I've cleaned up this topic a little.  Per the forum rules, calling out other players is not allowed and that includes videos.  The way to deal with issue of players involved in illegal activities is through the ticket system so please create a ticket and include links to videos that you feel are proof of the wrong-doing rather than posting them here.

My biggest complaint about the IP lock and how it's affecting the game is down to balance issues. 

 

Clearly, Genesis has no intention of addressing blatantly over powered classes and mechanics. If that's the case, then bare minimum, the IP limit should be lifted to at least give the non-meta / non-OP classes a method of getting caught up. They're not going to truly benefit from it, as they're still under powered and out classed, but at least they won't be getting 3 shot KO'd in 750ms. 

 

As for the VPN situation. That's always going to be a thing, until they remove the IP Cap. People will always find a way to hide their IP's, or get clans to structure a rigged match even without a VPN, so the problem is going to be there. That being said, it's an unfair advantage over normal players abiding by the rules, and if the staff can't so much as be bothered to make very small incremental changes to the games balance, I really fail to see how they'd even expect us to believe that blocking VPN abuse, fixing dupes etc is ever going to be handled. 

 

Point blank, I don't care that people are rigging Matches, it's against the rules and if they're caught, they'll be punished accordingly but seriously, like Elovin said, I don't blame them. Balance is not a thing anymore, and even if people were able to set up games against their friend family or themselves, the grind is still STUPID long. And none of that accounts for the guaranteed crashing of the GA PvP groups [or just large scale groups in general]. There's literally every reason to remove the IP Cap, and hardly any logical reason to keep it.

I'm disappointed. Not that you care about my approval, but I did expect more from such a potentially hot button topic. Instead, you just can't help yourselves. Knock it off, I'm done. Your personal spat is now bleeding into the threads giving the staff even more reason to just ignore these conversations. You're now perpetuating the problem you all so vehemently claim to be against. Seriously, just knock it off.

I am just an honest person, sry if my opinion sounds too harsh for you sometimes. Yes i am not a big fan of you but lets be honest who actually is. I appreciate some of your effort, but some to me is just crying. I dont know if u remember but i even took time ingame for stuff u suggest here....been a skill or gem leveling idea, i kinda forgot, but i asked you ingame about it and u asked me to tell my opinion on forums which i did.

You could have just stopped going off topic urself now...i guess the problem is that not enough people actually use the forums and if then it often happens to happen that they just continue their ingame fight here...and since u feel like i do the same here (which i dont but ok lol) it feels to me that you are just one of them.

 

To the actualy thread, i said so before on a different thread.

I kinda like the idea but i am scared it would kill the normal pvp, I dont know how many people would bother queuing up anymore and fight against others when they can just log their own chars or keep it intern clan/friends. Wars rarely happen lately and pvp is sleeping in general. Dp is like one of the places where we actually still fight vs others ( and if it just happens to be a clan or char we usually dont war)

 

Id really appreciate a new pvp game (maybe one like you recommended, a smaller one and maybe remove IP cap for those)

Of the 18 Threads you've participated in your entire forum registration time, 13 Were started by community members.

Of those 13 threads, 6 I started.

Of the 18 total threads, 16 I was active in.

 

I mean, The only person who you stalk as much as me is Henry, and that's only because the majority of his threads are related to Mages kicking his sword champs butt and how it's not fair that they have an auto-win button / build whenever they want, and since you play a Mage you try to cut his opinion down as much as possible to get it ignored.

 

Point is, yea, you do come here [looks like about half the time] and get in my threads just to go after me [The other half are after Henry's posts]*. Trust me, of all those threads, you really never said anything polite, encouraging, reinforcing or in anyway positive. Of the few times you did, you did it in a back handed way by including as many 'buts' and other caveats as possible to deter it and water it down to nothing more that pleasantry for public image sake. 

Besides, I'm not really sure who you're trying to fool.I know you don't like me, especially because I can't stand your aunt. All of your friends know you don't like me. I mean seriously, why even pretend like you don't have a disposition towards me, no one would care if you did.

Not a bad idea, Feuer. I am fine with no IP limits in Game Arenas.

Finally I would be able to do cou on my own in peace.

And doing dp or any game arena with friends and even leech a char... is a nice idea.

And I have to agree with Elovin... people who still play pvp arena and try to gear their chars... that are the people who still care about the game, that are the people who are active... and play Rose and love rose... regardless of broken pvp arenas and other broken stuff... and we should support this.

I love the idea that family, friends, etc. in the same house that can use the same internet to play this game in Game Arenas like PVP Arenas like the game was before. But the only limit that I agree is that when you play PVP Game Arena you only can play there (Game Arena) with one account in one PC (Computer) so will limit the PC Address to only play in PVP Game Arenas. So players don't go to leach with this limit of PC Address.

 

In resume with the PC Address Limit, the player cant go to leach in PVP arenas but can play with family, friends, etc... with the same IP Address (Internet address) and this help the game to be more active players and grow up the game and be more real PVP arenas.

 

More satisfied players bring more players!

The whole point of suggesting the IP cap being removed is to get people to leech, closing the gap between full rune and no rune players due to the significant difference that it holds. Another big reason for this suggestion is based off the obviously low player count. Even if you were able to get enough friends to run DP all day, unless you got enough for it to be a constant 5v5, you'd be looking at nearly 7-8months at the least, for 1 maxed rune, if you're lucky.
