Hello Rose community,

I'm an old school player who took a break couple of years ago and now i'm back.

At this moment i'm farming valor points for my high end brave PVM gear set.

For my valor points i'm running cave of ulverick all of the time.

Since it gets pretty boring to run the dungeons all the time, i got a small question.

What is the most efficient way to farm valor points?

- Dungeons

- Quests

- ...

Thx for any feedback for the community!

Also make sure to get the Valor Reward Bonus that helps a lot!

Try to find a good team that u can spam sc with so u already farm mats for runes and get some new sub stats at the same time. And as bigmicmac said try to do the dungeon daily quests.

Good luck!

Be sure to do quests for dungeons when you join them.

You can obtain the quests as follows:

Cave of Ulverick: Desert of the Dead
Halls of Oblivion: Oblivion Temple
Sea of Dawn: Eucar
Sikuku Catacombs: Inside the dungeon itself

Hi,

Thanks for the feedback.

As i type this message i bought myself a permanent Valor Bonus. (pretty expensive: ± 2b)

I also got the quests going and gonna try to do them every day.

Today I also got my first Brave piece (chest) for my knight (lvl 240).

I'm gonna refine it to (10).

So I allready know you can either put a gem or substats on an item.

But what about those runes i hear people talk about.

Can somebody give me a quick recap of what the runes are?

As from a Knight perspective, what would u suggest for;

- Substats

- Gems

- (Runes?!)

Thanks for the feedback, it's greatly appreciated!

You cannot place substats in honor or valor gear (which includes your brave set) so your options for that are gems or runes.

Runes are basically stronger versions of gems that have 3-4 stats total and you upgrade using materials obtained in dungeons or pvp games. You obtain them from the valor and honor shop as well as a reward from bosses in dungeons for the face runes, but these are extremely rare.

Don't worry about runes for a long time because of the amount of time/resources needed to upgrade them but you can start saving materials from them in the long run.

In the brave set you should use a bliinfing rosasite cushion in the chest (Or ruby 10.. lol) the other pieces will vary a little depending on what you want to do with your knight. Though you can go with the blinding mesolite asscher in the shoes or the star quartz/ damage reduction gem. In the head slot either the sunstone/ staragate/ or skill power gem. Lastly the gloves have several offensive options: the 25% aspeed gem, melee attack power, or pierce defense will be your choices, unless you go for the only defensive one, which is the starquartz.

Thank you for all the information!

I'm farming valor points doing my daily dungeon quests for CoU & SC.

It's going pretty good so far. Almost have my second piece of brave gear.

Today i got a poison scroll or something for my weapon.

It seems like an additional dmg option for my weapon.

I have to check it out more if it is any good.

Knight wise, i'm using Endless Blade (+15) and aurum OH shield (+15).

I got a supdoku shield (+15) on my cleric, but it's character locked.

I probably need a character unbound coupon (from IM) for that.

For accessoires i'm using the Spider set. What substats should i look for?

I was thinking of 60 mov speed & ... ?

Is it better to put lvl 240 gems in the gear or put a rune on it? (or are both possible?)

Any tips for a good face item for knights (and substats)?

Any tips for a good back item for knights (and substats)?

Thanks for all feedback!

If you take a look at your skills, you'll notice some of them have an elemental icon next to them and elemental scrolls can be placed into a weapon and chest armor piece.

An element in the weapon will modify the damage of your melee attacks, as well as skills that have no innate element to them.

Check the wiki for more details: https://rose.irowiki.org/wiki/Elements

Take that Sopdu Shield off of your cleric and give it to your knight, your cleric shouldn't even be using that. Use a magic tool, either the tutankhamun book of horus or prophet scepter instead. Also you don't need to purchase an unbinder from the item mall, you can just buy one from the valor shop for 100 valor points.

As far as substats go, use some combination of str, and either mspeed, dodge, attack power, hp recovery or something similar.  Keep in mind though using a 25 str/ 100 dodge stat will help more than a 25 str/ 100 defense stat.

Once you get a brave set you can put gems into it (can't place substats on it). Runes are basically stronger versions of gems that can be upgraded but the amount of time and resources it takes to do so means you won't be using them for a long time, and no, you can't have both a rune and a gem in one slot.

Good face item would be the purple eyepatch (45 str/60 mspeed) but these are pricey, for a backshield it's best to use wings of the rising phoenix. Likewise, use similar substats as you'd use on your jewelry.

It has been a while since i posted in this topic.

But i want to share my point of view from a returning player who is back for a couple weeks now.

I managed to finally get my full brave gear set (+10) for my knight.

I use certain substats (25 str with dodge/movspeed/accu) and a rune on my necklace.

The rune is lvl 21 now and i've allrdy put a lot of mats into it.

I can tank everything in CoU and SC.

It feels pretty awesome. =)

My main hand is Endless Blade + 15.

Is it worth it to refine it to + 20?

Right now i'm saving some zulie for a str eyepatch.

I havent seen much of those eyepatches around in Junon Shops.

I think it will be pretty expensive.

For my zulies i'm saving pretty much all dungeon loot i get.

chemicals (80-100k each)

Jewel chests V

refines (powerd / hg / U)

skill books

scrolls

I also got an Aplyxia Medal for sale.

One last question... I see a lot of people with a king outfit.

Is it worth it to invest in that king set? Does it give some awesome stats or something?

For now i'll keep farming valor points untill i can buy some good gems and maybe a skill book of 2.

Thanks again for all positive feedback.

It's greatly appreciated.

I'm thinking about starting a Gunbourg.

Stats (con for Rift Buster and rest into Sen)

All passive gunskills + selfbuffs etc.

Gear: exalted or courage set

Acc: spider set

Back: Phoenix wings or backpack

Face: any?!

Weapon: Rift Buster + 10 (with +30% crit dmg gem)

What substats should i aim for as a Gunbourg?

I'm thinking of +Con/+Crit  -  +Aspeed/+Con  -  +Apower/+Aspeed.

Good to see that you made some progress.

As far as runes go they aren't really worth using over substats until they're at level 50 more or less, that level 21 necklace rune is better off being a 25 str/40 ap stat for now.

It's only going to be worth it to refine your endless blade if you have plutorunes and venurunes, in which case it's easy and worth it to do so.

The King set adds 5% attack power and 5% crit when wearing it as a costume, which is why you see so many people in said outfit. Is it a huge gain? No, and it is very expensive to buy the medallions, and insanely time consuming to attempt to farm them on your own (they have about a 1% drop rate at best, and can't really be increased or so we assume). Not only that but you'll end up looking like everyone else too in the process.

For Gunbourg:

The stat ratios for attack power on guns are as follows:

1 con =.5 ap

1 dex =.4 ap

1 sen = .1 ap

As you see dex gives almost as much attack power as con so you definitely don't want to ignore it completely. As you are doing pvm dodge is very important too, especially considering gunbourgs get a temporary dodge buff, as well as have an accuracy down aoe, you can surely make use out of having dodge. Likewise, you probably want to invest a small amount of points into charm too. (this applies to every class, you don't want to ignore charm completely)

  • Exalted and Courage are fine offensively, but Brave is just overall a better set than courage, and dealers are very frail so its definitely important to have some means of survival in dungeons.
  • Luna Set or Vagrant set over spider bite.
  • Phoenix Wings or Doctor's Back Arms:
  • Gold Eyepatch
  • For the weapon gem you can use citrine but some bosses have insanely high crit defense you won't be able to crit them reliably, or at all without a heavy investment into crit. Otherwise the Malachite (melee attack power) is a good option.
  • Use either Con/Attack Power or Attack Power crit substats for offense. Alternatively you can do Attack Power/Dodge or Dex Dodge for a defensive variant.

Hope this helps.
