Hello guys,

for a couple of months now I can no longer take in-game screenshots. It used to work fine, but then one day it just stopped working.

I press printscreen but there is no message in game, and I go to check in my screenshot folder and ofc there is nothing there. I was hoping it might have been a patch issue and that the future patches mght override it, but it didn't help. I reinstalled the game fresh a couple of times in hopes that it may fix my problem but it didn't  :/

Now I use a sort of a workaround, where I would put a game to window mode and then press outside of it and screenshot it, and then paste that image in photoshop and save... but that's not a very happy solution :/

last screenshot that I managed to take was on 21st of October 2017.

is there a sort of a file I'm missing?

These patches that they keep throwing around all over ds seems to be the culprit, it seems to come with every other patch. Anyways, hold the window key and press print screen, you will have a screenshot, it will look to be fade it screen, but when you look at screen you noticed is fine. The issue is related to windows 10 and the way the files are patch.

Nonsense. But if you use Windows 10 you could use the Windows Gaming Commands to take a screenshot or Video Recording.

Just press WIN+G and confirm that it's a game and you will have access to taking screenshots and video recording based on the Windows 10 Gaming services.

As for the Screenshot function it stopped working properly for some when I needed to change the implementation because some of the players were using this as abuse months ago. I have no problems with it on my PCs but I will look into this again when the Arcadia Episode 3 is released.

A quick fix is currently not possible because the reason is that the DirectX 9 device does not get the frontbuffer surface on some systems for a reason. That must be investigated first and can't be done in haste.

The only nonsense is that this problem has been told over 2 years ago and still broken. The main reason people has to keep downloading files in order to get it to work. This issue is nothing new.

Okay, downloading does change the directx device. Yes for sure. Know what, you are right and I am wrong despite the fact of having decades of development knowledge. But if that is what you believe just go on with it if this makes you feel better.

It's up to the community if they think you are right or me is. I have given the reason and I won't discuss this with you further.

Just to add in, if you experience a bug like this please be sure to send a ticket to our support team with the details. This issue is something the Dragon Saga team is aware of, however it is an issue we have not been able to replicate on our end, so it will take more feedback from those affected, and is not currently the highest priority fix at this time. If you do send a ticket in to help us investigate this issue, please provide your information in your ticket by doing the following:

Press WinKey+R

Enter msinfo32.exe into the textbox

go to file -> export

Select an export location, write ticket and attach the exported file

In the meantime, we do recommend if you are experiencing this issue to use other methods of taking screenshots, such as Fraps/Bandicam or if available, the Windows 10 Game Services

ah ok, thanks guys for the help. The only reason why I posted this here was because I thought there would be a quick fix that didn't need any ticket submitting :)

But I'm patient I can wait.

also I use win7.

I maybe found a reason for it... When I changed my Desktop size to 1920 x 1080 px first it worked always. But after changing the text size to 125% the screenshots where black. So I changed the text size back to 100% and it worked again.

So I would say if your Screenshots are black just experiment a bit changing the size and text size.

I tried that on my Laptop.. where I always had 1920 x 1080 px + 125% text size and always had black screenshots. I usually use 125% text size because its more relaxed for the eyes. After changing it to 100% text size it worked there.

So try 1920 x 1080 or another option that worked was 1280 x 720 px but also use 100% text size!

Maybe these infos also help to fix the problem.
