Hello. We had a debate on discord and I am wondering which is the most efficient one element set up?

1 ele attack and 4 Quad resistances?

2 ele attack and 2 ele resistances?

Usualy people go 100/100 /20/20 with duals but doesnt that make em realy weak agains 2 elements and on the other hand the quad resist build gives people more resistance to all elements compared to dual and 1 element having a slightly higher damage then duals .

So what are myths what are facts anyone got some math on it?

Mostly interesting situations like - When 2 people of the same class and same gear were to fight each other one with 1 ele build and the second with duals. But the one ele build would have a element that the other is weaker to who would deal the most damage and by what margin?

It's a matter of how both attacks compare vs multiple resistance scenarios. Like test both dual and quad in maxed vs. multiple types. Which does more vs what?

The ideal one is the all around type. The one that will outdamage the other in more scenarios.

I think it's simple, if you want to try to build class cannon and have as much damage as you can, do dual. But if you want to survive better overall do quad. Duals are also cheaper which might be a factor for a lot of people.

Personally I think quad resist seems better now. Though it might just be me thinking that the grass is greener on the other side. Quad ele resist just seems so much tankier a lot of the time.

i hope this helps, this is from previous update that elems deal half damage. if you want to get the same stat at DS calc, just multiply by two..

for PVE i think its more better to use dual elems.

cant say for PVP. some classes are better using dual or quad.

Its not that hard to understand Vossel.. Just read the post and implement you knowledge..  ;)

If you multiply his Final Damage or Final Resistance row with 2 you have the Ele numbers you would have on your characters info.

For example you use that first "build" on your info would stand 2250 Fire, 120 Ice, 115 Nature and 115 Dark. Your final damage is the half of it if the other person has 0 ele points in every element.

And the calculation for example for fire is: He set Fire on 100 so:

manapvpdmg.jpg

As you can see he set 100 Points in Fire. This will get multiplied with 5 which makes 500. Then its easy, you just use ur damage rate and multiply it with that number.

-> 450% * 500 = 2250

voila

2250 / 2 = 1125 <- the final Damage

hummm yea those numbers are not right at all

for pvp i got 8550 total.

and i use dual card Fire/ice + 2 ice single on rings

3375 fire (100) PVE/ PVP 1125

4875 ice (100) PVE / PVP 1625

0 nature (0) PVE / PVP 0

300 dark (40) PVE / PVP 100

so where do he take the (/2)

@Vossel well maybe its not exactly halfed... im not sure about it... but its like half of it. So you can calculate directly with the half of the ele damage and of course also with the half of the deff.. for example: p1 has 2k fire attack, p2 has 1k fire deff.

You can calculate with the half of them stats so: 1000-500= 500 addifional final damage. It wouldnt make sense if you dont use the half of the ele deff.

@Zirothos: Yeah that are your numbers on it but if you PVP for example someone with 100k HP and 0 ele deff and you have 0 damage on your weapon, you would deal the half of your damage to him,

Means: (1115+1615+100)=1830, 1830/2= 915 Youe hits would always be 915 (or if Vossel is right something around that number).

You cant tell if both is halfed because there are two ways of calculating

The element damage gets reduced after the calculation with the resistence is done
meaning 2k attack against 1k defence will lead to ~500 dmg getting through.

You cant tell for sure if resistence gets reduced as well, but i would believe in my calculation even tho the other one can be right, because this one is simpler and just need one scaling at the end of the calculation and not need to put that scaling on both attack and resistence.

oopps. forgot to reply, those final damage is the element damage per hit on pvp ( say example 1 xspam of  thief)

you are free to test it on pvp if you want by using a lvl 1 weapon and attacking a high defense character so that the phys/mgc atk wont govern (hence 1 damage only) or you can use april fools skill (which makes your attack to an enemy reduced to 1 per hit except the element damage or monk perfect seal)

of course you will have to consider also the resist.. for you to get your final damage on enemy in pvp..

Forumla:

(you) Final Element damage - (enemy) Final Element Resist + 1(phys/mgc attack) = your final damage per hit

not good at explaining things, would be better if you guys test it.. bye :)
