I use it mainly because all the bonuses. I run 100 str which means I get the last bonus at 90 but I'm getting +20 on other stats too. I will run some tests today, with 2 sapphires and then p mask to see.

Seraphm coronet actually increases VCT like jRO in spite of the description in iRO. It does not matter much at high level but if you are using Cylinder Hairband at lower level, it's better to keep it in your mind.

lets take this up a notch and say we add megs to this vs sapphire, would meg+ pdm be better than 2x megs along with seraphim set?

My calculation shows that with 2 x Beezelbub Cards and Seraphim Set(at lv.175 with 100 STR, 120 DEX, 120 INT and 90 VIT), it is possible to instant cast CC with Old Midas without +20 food, here is my result:

 

2 x Beezelbub Card: -60%

+12 KK Old Midas: -12%

Seraphim Set: -8%(+15% + 1% + 1% - 15% - 4% - 6%)

+8 Anemo/Gaia Shield: -5%

Temporal Dex Boots Spell 5: -10%

Perverse Demon Mask: -5%(-1% per 18 VIT)

 

This gives a total of -100% VCT, thus instant cast CC with Old Midas. The VIT can be reduced further to put on STR, if Old Midas is refined to higher level(+13-14). This is one advantage of using Seraphim Set for 2 x Beezelbub users, as it would have been a lot harder with Tengu Set(need to use spell enchant on other gears but it reduces DPS significantly).

 

Of course, if my interpretation of VCT reduction with Seraphim Set is wrong, please correct me, thx.

Or you can farm Geneticist Flamel MVP card, +20 on all stats, its like permanent +20 food. Id say better than VCT reduction with Beezelbub Cards, even slow cast wont affect you.

It's truely not that difficult to achieve instacast via stats on genes. 

 

If you're still struggling after the addition of demon mask, consider using an armor that adds stats (enchanted Abusive/Flattery, Hero Trade mail etc). Zerom cards on accessories were my goto before demon mask was released.

 

*unless of course you can blow 2 Beezle cards like LordYgg xD

Does seraph set reduce or increase VCT? Description says it increases.

IMHO stacking both %VCT reduction AND high VCT reduction through stats is a waste and you will actually lose DPS.
Choosing %VCT reduction while leveling is fine. But at end game, the most optimal setup would still be no-cast through stats.
BTW I am not just talking about Genetics. This applies to a lot of classes as well.

If you want to rely on MVP cards that only a few people have instead of food i think you have an issue.... 

 

if you have both beelze cards and you want to do a niche MVP card build with full VCT reduction go for it

I don't use stat foods and reach insta cast just fine with seraphim / old midas. Dex/dex 16.1 enchants / pdm / sapphire wrist / temp dex and 120 base dex is pretty much enough. I do need blessing though.

dex14+ gfss are cheaper and a much more reliable option than vct reduction %s

 

its only a loss of 20% ranged mod, not a biggie given how much damage genes can do nowadays

I was able to put up this set of gears/stats, but for some reason I still get cast bar. So maybe my calculation for 100% VCT reduction is incorrect, or some gears aint working properly(anyone checked VCT reduction for Seraphim Set, Gaia/Anemo Shield and PDM is working?).

I was trying to achieve instant cast through VCT reduction gears/cards, not from stats. If you read my earlier post, my calculation shows I have stacked up 100% VCT reduction, but it seems that it doesnt. I wonder if my calculation is wrong, or at least 1 VCT reduction gear is bugged.
