Checking the server logs this is what it recorded for enriched ores when it came up.

So it means upgrading armor/lvl 4 weapon from +9-10 has 20% chance of success? I’ve been fooled. I though it was 8%

That makes sense. I never though about refining enrich from +9-10. I’ve been using hd ores when refining +9-10 since then.

i find if you take it really easy relaxed and slow when refine, you will see a clear standard, but when you spam it does cost more sometimes (not always) for safe measure i usually wait 2 or 3 success rotations of the NPC that shows a sword thing above it comes around every 8 seconds or so, just wait through 2-5 of those and then time according to that right before or right after etc, eventually you will find your sweet spot with in that measure of time, better to not rush refinement. imagine taking your car to a shop and instead of checking the oil for 10 minutes and charging you 80 bucks they smash your oil around with a hammer for 10 seconds and make you pay 500 bucks.

So, today I tried refining an item from 4->7 using safe certificates.
First attempt got it to +5, 60% chance of success, great.
But then it failed 12x in a row here, my item is now at +5 and I can’t spend more zeny on certs cuz I have to save for other items...
I mean, c’mon... 40% chance of success and it fails 12 times?
If you do the maths, you will know that the chance of failing 12 times is really really low.
Btw if you don’t know how to calculate it’s something like this:
You calculate how much are the chances of a failed event happens in a row -> (0.6)^12 wich is about 0.002 and that’s 0,2%
In other words, I had 99,8% chance of success by trying 12x and I was able to pull out the 0,2% of disgrace. Ugh, I guess chances are chances after all..
And certs price are bs nowadays...
I want a consolation prize, and only having my item at +6 won’t make me any happier tbh.
Btw, the item was a mere surv. shoes, but that costed me 800m, I’n not gambling with enriched for something at that price range.
Oh god maybe I should just go to bed...

 

it once took 19 certs to +7 a Temp Dex Boot.

I think you need to clarify the difference between these two tables. From what I read on iRO wiki, the left one seems to be the standard enriched rate, while the right table seems to be applicable for refine event. According to your server logs, the left table refine rate is being applied. This is all confusing, does this mean the right table only applies during Mad Bunny Refine event? If so, does it also indicate that Enriched Hammer will never ever apply the increased rate from the right table, since it wont show up at the same time with mad bunny event?

i tried 10 blacksmith blessing today for a +7 to +8 lvl 4 weapon, didnt get +8

this clearly shows there is some sort of "rng block" in place not allowing for fair odds, i think its 40% per attempt add thats to 10 attempts puts me in around the same .04% chance for that to exist

now thats not rng, thats a outside player, complete bogus man, gonna have to send some mail to the office

Enrich hammer will never be inserted at the same time as Mad Bunny Refine event. They apparently can only have either one active on the server at the same time.

 

The difference its the NPC to use. The Refine Event Rates applies on NPC Suhnmi, the Enriched Hammer Event is with NPc Enriched Hammer or the female version. If both applies at the same time is irrelevant. Correct me if i'm wrong on this.

For all the certs price, you can indeed buy a +9 version lol. Seems like the rates are bugged, the log do not show a bug on calcs. I have request a deep check on it via ticket and waiting a formal answer.

The rate is not bugged, it’s just a very old game in which the RNG isn’t truly random. There is a reason why some ppls have better luck at refining, enchanting or drops, it’s possible to manipulate the RNG in your favor if you have hacker’s knowledge.

The GMs cant track a simple RMT seller, or the bot problem, how do you espected to them figure it out whats going on with the rates. for every "sucess refine", I read like 5 "fail refine", if my maths are fine, thats not 40%. I prefer to wait after maintenance. Maybe a fresh restart in the server helps on this, But will wait a whole day i think. You know what happen every time the staff introduces major updates. Some zones restart, the "we screw, sorry, emergency maintenance" threads. a whole day would be enough.

I have few +9 Antonio’s coat. I sell one for 500m to break even ^_^

Coat is 75m
Cert cost is 300m. 30m is a Cert price. 10 Certs needed.
Enriched Elu cost is 125m. One 50 Box is 375m and has 50 Ores, this 7.5m/Ore. On average, one box gets 3 item to +9, 50/3 = 16.5 Ores/item.
