So, today I tried refining an item from 4->7 using safe certificates.
First attempt got it to +5, 60% chance of success, great.
But then it failed 12x in a row here, my item is now at +5 and I can’t spend more zeny on certs cuz I have to save for other items...
I mean, c’mon... 40% chance of success and it fails 12 times?
If you do the maths, you will know that the chance of failing 12 times is really really low.
Btw if you don’t know how to calculate it’s something like this:
You calculate how much are the chances of a failed event happens in a row -> (0.6)^12 wich is about 0.002 and that’s 0,2%
In other words, I had 99,8% chance of success by trying 12x and I was able to pull out the 0,2% of disgrace. Ugh, I guess chances are chances after all..
And certs price are bs nowadays...
I want a consolation prize, and only having my item at +6 won’t make me any happier tbh.
Btw, the item was a mere surv. shoes, but that costed me 800m, I’n not gambling with enriched for something at that price range.
Oh god maybe I should just go to bed...

Just gonna say it, even at 31m you should only be at 341m into cert investments, so it's still worth the safe option considering the shoes base price. A shame about RNG, but it is what it is.

On a more positive note. Next time can be only 3 certs to make it to +07. Chances are there.

Don't think buying the safe cert now is the right time. There is a good chance that safe will be included in the new OCP and lowering its price. Tough luck tho.

Told you WP, put tons of certs in next Remix box. Replace Job manual with Certs. Something like this can easily make new players rage quit until they get used to how iRO is like.

Yeah I stopped at that amount as well (well 6.2), the system sucks so I am just ignoring it like the plague from now on, or at least until we get Squirrel Ear Hood.

Consolation:
Dont feel special. I also experience it couple of times.
My worst is spending 30 blacksmith blessing to refine an item from +7 to +8. That’s 600m lost for 20% chance.

Going level 3+ on bio enchants can be really expensive, sometimes staying at level 3 can be good enough. I spent 540 fragments for 3 OBC with Mettle 3 , Acute 3 and Magic Essence 3

Well, I’m not feeling special or anything, just wanted to rage at my luck lol
99% chance of having my item upgraded once at that point ;-;
Also that was right after getting back from work so I was kinda... ugh
And that wasn’t the first time WP left me empty handed.
80 OCP boxes for literally 0 masks and 0 dresses, at that point shoulda just bought one;
70 ish BullS*** blessings to +7->+9 an item;
3.5k KP ish to +10 something using the enriched hammer + no safe HD ores method, wich I ended up giving up there...
It just happened at the wrong time for meh /heh

I don’t even know anymore why I keep throwing money on them.

Also if anyone got the wrong idea, I’m not demanding anyrhing when I said I wanted some consolotion prize, I just wanted to express my frustration lol
