I was just wondering if not speaking in English is illegal in this server. I saw a GM reprimand a player for not chatting in the English language. I thought this was an international server?  :P_idea:Just wondering...

No GM will force you to speak in english, unless you are annoying players in another language, when you have no intention to communicate with them.

Just to be safe, I have asked the GM staff to verify that and will update the post with their input as soon as possible.

From my understanding, users are free to use any form of language, however, profanity, racist comments, and spamming in any language will yield GM intervention.

I do have a screenshot of the conversation with the GM telling the players to speak in English. I understood the language as they were the same as my own dialect and I can affirm there were no profanity, racist or spamming that happened. Please inform me if you need the screenshot I got.

odd :/ i know that are even players who spam non sensible ads and gets banned for ad spamming by GM. the player ur talking about might be a victim of mistranslation where his buddies told him that an ill mannered word is a good word in this language.

Thank you for your concern. That was not what happened at all. They just said a few words that are not, in any way, even ill-mannered. I just want to make sure that this is not a case of GM's abusing their power. It makes playing in this server uncomfortable.

Are you sure it was a GM?
If you talked in a chatroom it could have been just a scammer, it's a common thing here, unfortunately.

Oh, I was sure it was a GM. The color of the chat in the chat box is orange. I have a screenshot of his avatar and also of the chat conversation. GMs are distinct.

GM/CM impersonators can do that as well, mein freund. It's best for you to take precautions, save screenshots and not to be provoked should you encounter one.

if someone is ever saying they are a GM, ALWAYS ask them to show themselves. As for their rules, they NEED to show themselves if you ask to make sure the situation is legit.

I have got a word from the GM staff, they will not punish users for speaking in non English and this stands still, that they will look for ill-behaved content in language.

Please PM me that screenshot.

Thank you for your concerns, GeymOpTrows and oddjob. But, I was not born yesterday. I know how to determine if something is legit or not. :)

VModCinnamon,

Screenshots sent. :)

WP staff has contacted the OP to clarify that specific incident.

Making this clear one more time that the GM staff will not at any means suspend or punish a user for typing in non English, however, inappropriate content in any form of language will warrant for their intervention. So please feel free to type in any language as long as it doesn't violate the rules of the game.

Topic is now resolved.
