Ragnarok MFC has stopped working

I keep getting this stupid error with Ragnarok MFC (Weird letters) has stopped working. I cant open the game. How can I fix this?

We will need more information to help find the source of the problem.

 

What are you doing when this happens? Which map are you on, is it only when certain skills are used, only on one character, etc. Anything you can think of that happens before it gives you this error will help narrow down the problem.

Fixed this problem before by:

1- uninstalling the game 
2- Updating Internet Explorer 11
3- Cleaning the cache/cookies/history
4- Making a factory reset on the Browser
5- Reinstalling the game and run it as admin.

I get the error right when I run the game as admin or regularly. It happens to every game such as classic and sakray. Same error, I cant even try to log in. I cant open the game up. I see the opening where you press play but that's it. It goes from patching to the game is broken.

1. Are you attempting to update a new or existing installation of the IRO client?

2. Where did you download the IRO client installer from?

3. Have you tried upgrading or reinstalling Internet Explorer, as Creusebek suggested?

I was playing fine just earlier in the day yesterday. I turned off my computer and later in the evening I went to go play and it started to look like an update but it just crashed

There was a an issue with a patch file, it should have been corrected by now.
 

Try the following:

  • Restart your device.
  • Clear Internet Explorer cache, if you don't know how please check Appendix #2 in this post.
  • Make sure Ragnarok.exe and Ragexe.exe are set to run as an admin all the time, if using dedicated antimalware/antivirus programs make sure the same are white-listed from the active scans.
  • Download patch.inf from this link, make sure to read the instructions carefully.

I tried downloading the patch thing as VModCinnamon said and it did not work. Same thing

so with a new install the game works. I however kept the old file and I'm curious to why it wont start. It worked fine before. I wish I could get back all the setting I had like the chats, I liked the old way I had them but I cant remember the settings. Thank you guys!

You can migrate your settings by doing the following:
  • Close any and all open clients.
  • In File Explorer/Windows Explorer, navigate to the old client installation folder.
  • Select the folder savedata, and then press control-C.
  • Navigate to the new client installation folder.
  • Press control-V, and then choose to replace the existing versions of the files.
