Those Sony notices for PS3 and Vita games have nothing to do with GDPR. Those changes affect everyone including those outside of Europe. They're simply not wanting to bother with providing games from older platforms because they don't wanna put in the work to make things backwards compatible if the global market isn't profitable enough to pay for the work involved which is nothing new for Playstation. Still got my old PS3 with backwards compatibility that was abandoned in later models.
The Killzone thing, again affects all regions. Seems to be because Sony are deciding to no longer support older titles that no longer has enough of a playerbase to be profitable enough to maintain the servers, it's something they've been doing for awhile now with other titles. The announcement reads "As we near the end of the online lifecycle for Killzone 2 and Killzone 3." So basically it was at the end of its thread in the eyes of Sony. Same with other titles like Gravity Rush last year etc.

Sony has long since not done a damn thing good about backwards compatibility. I think they got salty after the made the soft modding masterpiece known as the ps2.

You also don't seem to realise that this decision isn't coming from WP, but from Gravity or GungHo, which are decidedly bigger than just WP.
Doesn't change my mind about this game. If they were honest about management, maybe we would think differently.
We're 6 years behind in updates.
This game is p2w to the ninth end. Lootboxs in games is borderline gambling. Why should someone have to pay potential infinity for a specific item?
They'd rather ban a whole continent than fix it.

Funny, I didn't know Warpportal was Sony or any other company. What Warpportal chooses to do is solely on Warpportal, and to an extent Gravity. Hopefully for the benefit of Warpportal as well.
The GDPR laws may be fine and dandy for those in the EU, but not ALL international companies can comply with those laws or even want to comply with those laws. It is the companies right to make decisions as to what they think is in the best interest of their company. Same as it is with each individual to make decisions based on what they believe to best for them.
People forget this is life, you get dealt bad hands, sometimes you lose, and other times you win. You can only take the hand your dealt and play it to the best that you can.
Hopefully people can move past being this butthurt on a decision a company made and move onto a better hobby keeping in touch with old friends and making new ones.
Now don't get me wrong, I know this company is completely screwed in a lot of its management, way it is trained and staffed, and so many other bad decisions. Else this game would be even more amazing than it already it is, and not dying...

To be honest I never saw any advertising for the game, even though I started playing when it was first released. I just saw it as an icon on someone's desktop and asked about it. Word of mouth seems to have been a big factor in RO's initial success, but as time went on...

Wish I would be at your side when someone scams you thousands of dollars to tell you "suck it up and dont bitch about it, life deals you bad hands" and all that other crap you talk, too sad I dont give a flying about delusional randoms to actually put effort into it to make it happen.

All RO has going for it is nostalgia, even kRO knows it. They don't want to advertise any other facet of the game in their commercials because they know other games do it way better than what they're willing to put into it.
true. it is hard to advertise something that innate sucks, especially how it is now. kinda sad because it was simple gameplay and lifestyle that ro made people hooked, looking forward to adventures and whatnot. they have strayed away from this for too long. the commercial i saw before sucked, in no particular offense to the team. the only thing appealing probably was the people (because i think the marriage story could have been altered a bit, would have been at least emotionally appealing)
insights for the team though, stop advertising marriage. millennials tend to marry at a latter age now so it doesn't work as much. nor does the trend of ro flirtation is coming to a rise anytime soon with less grills in the game

I believe without Europeans, iRO will still exist

It will still exist, i'm more worried about the economy, with EU leaving and all the RWT going on because of certain reasons the economy will certainly take a HUGE hit. and that alone could cause a falling out.

If i'm not mistaken... The economy is largely controlled by Asians...

depends, i only see retention through the updates we've just received. not really sure for how long they'd keep up the act as well
as for the economy that depends. relative enough if what some say are true about getting new players and those new players are in fact whales, i see how the wpe currency may be altered by more sellers. that is if market people really do stand by their own principles which i really doubt in the end
i see it alive as well but with certain conditions, main factors would be the community and wp themselves. after all, appealing is something by which both appreciates and agrees on

And WP will continue to exist as long as players continue to support the game. As I said multiple times already, new SEA people are whales. Will they RMT or directly spend money to support WP, that’s another story however
