With regards to the European Region Access Announcement

 

We understand that many players have additional questions regarding this matter, and we are forwarding on all questions to our management team to get answers to you as soon as possible. We have some answers already, listed below, and we will add to this thread as we receive more.

 

Please post your questions regarding this matter below, we will be removing duplicate posts and threads on this matter at this time. Please know if your thread is removed, all of the questions and concerns you have posted have been added to our documents to send to our team already, we just want to make it as easy as possible for those who want to ask questions and find answers to locate the correct topic. 

 

FAQ

 

When will this refund thing start?

  • Refunds will start on May 1st. Since we are attempting to ensure we get everyone affected it may take a longer time than usual to go through all the transactions. 

Is there anything more specific you can tell us on how the refunds are going to work?

  • Players will be refunded back through the payment method used.

Do we have to write tickets?

  • Players do not have to write tickets in order to receive a refund. We anticipate that all the refunds will be completed by May 5th. If you have not received your refund by then you may do so. Please note that if you registered the account from a region not affected by the block you may still receive a refund but the account will be flagged as from Europe and disabled on May 25th when all other european accounts are suspended.
Are all EU accounts going to be suspended or just blocked from accessing the server?
  • All accounts registered from Europe will be disabled on May 25th. In addition any access from Europe will be restricted and we will no longer be accepting European users on to our service.
What is the list of all affected countries?
  • All of Geographical Europe except for countries located in the Commonwealth of Independent States

Is Turkey Affected?

  • Yes
Why is this block happening?
  • “As we already have announced officially, there were some changes for our European gaming operation and service plan, and unfortunately these changes made GVI to terminate the current European operation policy and strategy.  Thanks for your kindly understand and attention on this”

Does “disabled” mean the account is banned, deleted altogether, or just IP blocked?

  •     Due to the change of our service policy, we will be terminating all services to the European region,as such we will be deleting all user personal information from said region. However some information will be retained that is relevant to the laws and regulations in the United States
 
So if you're in a non-restricted area you can't access accounts that were originally made/registered in Europe? 
  •       All European accounts created within European area except for Russia and CIS will be inaccessible.
 
If an eu player logs on to an account will that flag it?
  •  All European accounts created within European area except for Russia and CIS will be marked with a flag and will be inaccessible.
 
I paid for a friend's account from Europe so she could be vip, she is located in Mexico. Will she be suspended?
  •   If her account was made and accessed within Mexico, it will remain accessible.
 
Can European accounts be transferred to users in North America? What about people that moved there since account creation?
  •    There will be no account transfer being made. All European accounts created within European area except for Russia and CIS will be inaccessible 
 
How are you going to determine who lives in the EU and who doesn't? Would it be by last login or by place of account creation?
  •    It will be flagged on the date of creation.
 
Why are you blocking countries that are not a part of European Union? EU laws do not apply to non-member countries so I don't understand why they are getting blocked too. 
  •     We are blocking all European countries except for Russia and CIS due to the change of service policy not for European Union but for all the European area. 
 
What should we do if our accounts are incorrectly flagged as from Europe?
  • All European accounts will be inaccessible. If your account is not European account, please let us know via e-mail.
 
Is refund mandatory or can we refuse it? If we refuse it is it possible to keep our accounts?
  • Regardless, All European accounts will be inaccessible.
 
What if, in order to play again, someone eventually moves out of EU? All their hard work just disappears and they have to start over?
  •  If the player’s new place of residence is in the region that Warpportal services, then they can play with new account created within such region. All European accounts created within European area except for Russia and CIS will not be accessible.
 
If this ban is lifted someday, somehow, how are we (European players) gonna know about it, if we don't have forum access etc?  Will the current data for EU accounts be saved or backed up?
  •  If there is a change in our policy and terms of use we will inform players through our usual channels. Anyone might be a dual citizen and choose to renounce their citizenship in EU to move to their non-EU country before May 25th -- what will you do then?

If a player wants to leave because all their EU friends are gone, will they qualify for refunds as well
  •  Only players affected by the new terms and policy changes will receive refunds.
 
Will players in the UK be able to rejoin after next month when they are not part of the EU anymore?
  •   If there is a change in our policy and terms of use we will inform players through our usual channels.

- What does "disable" mean? Our accounts will be kept aside for the future or they will be removed from Warpportal's database?

 

- Since RO1 players are given the chance to pass guild leadership and god items to other members, is there any chance we can give our bound items to our trusted friends? (i.e. +8, +9, +10 epic cards that required thousands of Kafra Points to purchase Cardfinium and Card Lucky Powder) Even if I can't play, personally the idea of giving my items to somebody I trust feels better than throwing in the rubbish thousands of euro I and the others spent in this game.

Hi.. 

 

I started playing while I was in Italy way back 2013. I had several accounts in RO2 since then. I came back to the Philippines 2014 and had been in and out of RO2  due to work etc. I am semi-active in game as I juggle IRL stuff and the game. Being that my accounts were created while in EU though I am playing in the Philippines now means I will loose all my accounts then? Most of my accounts are updated with my current information, that being in the Philippines.

Were there new laws passed in EU about loot boxes recently preventing services from continuing in EU?

My account was registered in the UK but I currently live in Vietnam, any chance of dodging this block ? Or will my account be disabled regardless ?

 

Any chance my account could be moved to reflect the region I actually currently live in ?

what about those who made accounts in EU then moved to other countries?

 

I played here from mid 2014 until now from the Philippines just because I made my account while I was still living in Italy way back 2013

Accounts made in Europe count as European accounts, at least that's what I read here and there, but better wait for an official answer.

 

- Is it possible to receive a "backup" of our accounts to keep it in case we will be able to play again this game in the future?

 

- Isn't it possible to ask to us European players to sign a Consent Form, attaching Passport/ID Cards, in order to give Warpportal any consent on our data?

 

- If all is supposedly related to a financial problem due to too high prices to comply with the new law, can't WarpPortal start a gofundme campaign? I am sure players will be glad to help the company.

 

- What's gonna happen to those Guilds that were created by any of us that will have their accounts disabled?

I just find that kinda retarded that I should be subjected to a law for EU citizens when I'm a natural born Filipino currently living in the Philippines. It just so happened I played this game while I was in EU.

why disabling the accounts, why not just block the ip so people can use them in the future :/ or if they move to another country

too risky if bound items can pass to someone.
eu user can just use vpn then create new account and pass the bound items to new made character.

fund campaign?how much is the cost anyway? and how many players does wp have?

is this temporary or you will do something in future that will lift the ip ban?

should you just check the location where players mostly played before disable the account? like vans3n not all accounts made from eu are not eu citizens.

I had been suggested a few times to join VCR team. I usually give advice on /1, I report bugs, bots... Also, the thread in my signature is said to be really helpful. After the tame sapphire wolf box's mess, I chose to think about it again after it got solved.
I have been inactive, wanting to be back, and once I was able to ensure activity (by half of may), I thought I'd actually join. But the first thing I see is... this...

After all my hopes of this game would get updates, after years of waiting, and saying "they will do something about this and that", writing on notepad guides, features that could be added... Now I can't even help, and all my expectations got crushed.... :sob:

Now I know that even if I do try to join and try to help in a more direct way, I won't be able.

Please Idun, if accounts do get deleted with all their content, at least make a copy of the suggestions in my thread, since it in that case it will be deleted too. :p_sad:

It might not be helpful for me anymore, but it will, certainly help to the few players that remain.

Thanks a lot for these years of effort from your side, warpportal team. I'll miss you a lot!

EU players can't just sign a consent form, with new laws passing the loot boxes are being made illegal.  I don't think many people would be happy to help this company, not a big enough player base even if you combined all their games together, most of their games are free to play remember.  As far as your guilds, if you don't login after 30 days anyone in the guild can send in a ticket to request guild leader change be made.  Which is why some people just login once every 30 days to insure the guild doesn't get hijacked.

 

I can't wait until North America starts adopting these laws, gonna be funny.

If you don't think this has anything to do with new laws being introduced, why don't you tell us why they suddenly decided not provide for that entire region?  I don't think they'd give us a straight answer if it were.  Regarding my guild leader answer, that's from experience, so take it or leave it.

 

I hear there's gonna be a VCR vacancy soon, maybe I should apply again? :lv:

This is in response to the EU GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation), not loot boxes.

    The EU is implementing new data privacy rules, known as General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Unfortunately, our service is intended to serve users in the U.S. Because it was not designed to comply with all GDPR requirements, Unroll.Me will not be available to EU residents. This means we may not serve users we believe are residents of the EU, and we must delete any EU user accounts by May 24. We are truly sorry that we are unable to offer our service to you.

same with this company "Unroll.me to close to EU users saying it can't comply with GDPR"

 

Hm, I'd never heard of them so Googled them, the front page of articles are all about how "Unroll.me has been mining and selling off email data, and Uber used that data to gain intelligence on Lyft." So I guess they have more issues than just GDPR when it comes to compliance. :p_devil:

Please next update patch, give reset skill scroll!!! I got problem with my bm skills and already use my skill reset... dont know where to find that reset skill scroll... please...

it's kinda OOT, but.., you can get skill reset scroll by exchanging MP to npc Dapara at morroc
